The OXOGood Grips Jar Opener with Base Pad is designed to make opening jars a breeze. Its base pad secures jars in place, while sharp stainless steel teeth grip lids firmly. The ergonomic handle provides excellent leverage, and it's dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

Easy and versatile. The best.
As usual, OXO has another wonderful product. It opens anything I want it to: soda bottles, mayonnaise jars, orange juice bottles, all of it. I have put my monkey wrench back in the tool box.

Reliable and easy to use
These are the best kind of jar opener tools around. They are easy to use, and grips the lids without slipping. The silicone base is also a great feature to keep the jar from falling off the surface. I have tried various kinds of openers but these were my favorite

Works pretty well but be careful how you use it.
I bought this Oxo opener as a temporary assist with opening jars after an injury, but I think I'm going to keep it.As with most Oxo kitchen products, it is a well-constructed tool and it comes with a handy rubber pad that adds grip to the bottom of jars you want to open. However, but it can be a bit awkward to twist this tool with one hand while holding a larger sized jar in the other. There is potential for things to go sideways if you put a lot of pressure on either item. Additionally, the tool has metal teeth on one side in order to really get a grip on lids so if the tool slips so there is a chance you could come in contact with those teeth.Having said that, if you don't go ham and just take your time with the first jar or three [until you've worked out the ergonomics], you should be fine. This opener works best for me when I put a jar on the rubber pad, then pull the tool with my left hand while gripping the jar with my right hand [easier to pull than to push!] Your results may vary.If you have an injury, a bit of arthritis or you just and need a little help with your grip, I'd recommend this tool.Beyond that, I'd consider a mounted version so you can use both hands to open stubborn lids.

Great Father's Day gift
I got this as a gift for my husband, who's having a decrease in gripping strength as he ages. He's able to easily open most bottles now with little difficulty. It takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of the wrist action involved in finding the placement of the opener on the tops of different lids, but you can quickly get the hang of it. The handle is a nice cushiony one, it feels sure when you're gripping and turning. The teeth on the underside of the device grip firmly and don't let go while turning. It's really easy to clean, mostly you just rinse it off after using it if you need to. A silicone disc is also included for you to put on the counter to insure a slip resistant base for the jar you're opening. This item seems well made and lives up to the stellar reputation of the OXO brand. Worth the cost!

Doesn't work for me
I don't know if it's me or the product, but I haven't been able to open anything with it yet. Maybe I need to get used to it, so I'm not going to give up yet, but it doesn't look promising. It doesn't actually grip the lids. It just slides around the lid without moving it.

Beauty and Funtionality
Great design aesthetically & I love that, add that IT REALLY WORKS, IS STRONG & has a SYNTHETIC PAD that fits neatly into the jar opener when not in use and when in use helps keep the jar or bottle from slipping around when it’s being opened. So far, I’ve used it on 32 ounce bottles of juice and smaller bottles too and it’s always worked really quickly and easily a little force and the job is done. Easy on the hands and so far no spilling.👍 🫙🍾💙
