This works!!!
I’ll start in the beginning. So I’ve been dying my hair with permanent colors and fun colors for years! Everything from rainbow colors all the way to just black or blue black. In the last year I’ve also stupidly done box dye, and I think that’s where I started to ruin my hair. So my hair was feeling like it had a lot of build up and was difficult to style or even brush and now my color was looking very faded (my most recent color was denim from matrix so it’s an ashy darker blue type of color for reference) and just overall blah. So I figured I wanted a fresh start but I really didn’t wanna have to just chop my hair and do it that way so in my Google search this brand/product what is the most recommended with the least damage. So I gave it a shot! I will admit the smell was completely unpleasant very 80s box dye smelling, and when I put it on my hair, I was really pessimistic that it was going to do anything. And there’s one very important thing it says to rinse your hair for 20 minutes! I followed this to a T product was in my hair for 25 minutes. I rinse my hair with shampoo for 20 minutes and then I ended up deep conditioning my hair with a biotin hair mask that I use once a month anyways. This product works your hair will smell like the product for a couple of days. But it goes away and I’m so happy I have this fresh start for my hair. I even included a picture of it flat iron so you can see it has a lot of shine. It’s not frizzy I have curly hair so the after picture may not appear to be healthy, but it feels great! If you’re on the fence about buying this product, don’t be

Smells but works very well!
I’ve used Color Oops many many MANY times before, but never written a review for it. I’ll write about this last two uses. I purchased the two pack twice (4 boxes), I have to use two boxes a time to really make sure my hair is saturated.. I have really thick hair and a lot of it. I triple bag the hair with disposable shower caps to hold the liquid and the god awful smell in. Follow the directions to the T! When it said to rinse the first time for 20min, do that! Make sure your hot water heater is working well and spend as much time as possible rinsing out your hair as you can, this is a huge part in removing the color. As for that smell?? After a few washes it does go away, so don’t fret. This last time using this, I started with my hair being boxed dye Garnier Nutrisse #11 Blackest Black (peppercorn). I sadly forgot to take the before photo so image a super dark black. After the first two boxes I got it down to a brown/red, I then waited two-three days (mostly cause of shipping, I didn’t buy the 4 boxes at the same time) and then used it again… now I have a lighter reddish brown. I’m happy with the color (IT DOES NOT BRING YOU BACK TO YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR) (I’m a natural dark ash blonde)…I’ll probably dye it later though. If you do dye after using Color Oops, keep in mind that your hair is super porous right now and whatever color you choose will come out darker than the desired result … so buy a few shades lighter then what you want.I think that covers it. Pretty much, read the instructions and don’t expect a miracle in this box… expect some color removal. This isn’t bleach so be happy it isn’t completely destroying your hair.

Not for dark hair
I have professionally died black hair and wanted to go a little lighter at the roots for an ombré effect. The color oops did pretty much nothing (eh whatever, just saw it as a $20 loss). Decided to bleach it (as I have done before, went to cosmetology school) and my hair is falling out in clumps, breaking off parts of it won’t even dry and have that “gummy” feeling. I’ve never had this happen with straight using bleach - glad that some people had good results but I wouldn’t recommend if you have dark hair.

Works great, just smells awful! 😅
As you can see if first pic, my hair was very red. I was using a depositing color conditioner (biolage red poppy) once every 2 weeks for about 6 months to retain the color. My hair was bleached originally underneath due to other colors I had previously. When I used the color remover, it worked well, but my hair (the part that was bleached before) was still pretty orange and since I was wanting to dye my hair purple, I wanted to get as much red as I could out. I blow dried my hair and did the second bottle of the color remover, shampooing my hair twice and the third pic is how it turned out. If you’re planning on using the remover on hair that’s already been bleached, it should turn out something like the bottom. It almost took out all the color! This bleach hair has had artificial brown on top, hot pink, and red and the remover successfully took out the majority of the color! My roots on the other hand, are brown so it didn’t take out as much red. The final picture is how my hair turned out with the purple dye on top. I’m super happy with the turn out! I loved the Color Oops remover and I would definitely use again. hope this helps!

Didn't work this time
I’ve used Color Oops successfully in the past, which is why I was surprised when this latest application didn’t remove much of the color. While the strong chemical smell is typical for color removers, this time, the product didn’t seem to work as effectively. I’m unsure if the issue was due to the product being outdated or if there has been a change in the formula, but the results were not up to par with what I’ve come to expect.Pros:Trusted Brand: Generally reliable for color removal in previous uses.Strong Formula: Designed to handle tough color removals.Cons:Ineffective This Time: Did not remove much color, leading to disappointing results.Strong Smell: The chemical smell is intense, though this is common with similar products.
