This review is for the 4 channel amplified splitter. Hooked this up to my rotating antenna to try to help boost the signal. You know the $25 Chinese rotating antenna that a bunch of people selling under different names. The antenna worked great but for whatever reason I have a hard time getting abc where I live with any antenna so I figured I’d give it a shot. The picture on every channel dropped out and had no signal with this amplifier plugged in. I’m assuming since the antenna is powered through the coaxial cable, the amplifier is interfering with the signal or just cancelling it out. It does say for passive antennas only but figured I’d give it a gamble and lost. I also checked the GE website and found absolutely no info on it so I wonder if they even make it or someone using their name? Anyway don’t waste your money if you have an amplified or powered antenna of any kind because it won’t work.

Installed to the antenna. Tuned in 116 channels, as we typically get. Came back later and on had 28 channels. Returned and only got 30 channels. Turned out the antenna is damaged, 5 years old and probably from our high temperatures and sun.

I have a Yagi antenna installed in my attic. A cable runs from it, down to the crawlspace and up to my home theater box. I live in a moderate sized metropolitan area, about 5 miles from most of the TV antennas. The Yagi is fixed, no rotation. I get all of the major affiliates and 5 SD channels. I don't know if they are broadcast locally or from a nearby small town.I ran a power line for an outlet for the power supply. I attached the splitter to a stud, connected the antenna to the splitter input, plugged in the power line and connected the down line to connector 1.The picture on the main TV in the family room, with no other TV connected to the splitter, was clear for the local major channels. None of the SD channels were there, no pixelated reception, nothing. I swapped out the cable between the antenna and splitter for another cable. It was the same result, no SD channels that had been crystal clear before adding the splitter.I switched the down cable to be directly on the Yagi antenna again and all of the SD channels returned. I put the down cable back on the splitter and used a 3rd cable between the Yagi antenna and the splitter input. There was no difference, none of the SD channels were there.All 3 cables I used between the Yagi antenna and the splitter were RG58, 18 AWG cables. Two were from the cable company and the other one was from a different company. All were from sealed plastic bags, having never been used.I didn't expect miracles but I didn't expect the "amplifier" to make reception worse than without it. My recommendation is that you look for something else.

At my city location there are 40 possible stations (including stations within a channel - .1, .2, .3 etc.). I am using with two TV/Monitors, HDHomerun network tuner, and HD radio tuner. I bought four identical cables to go to the different tuners. The distribution aspect of this device is great for my situation.I get more FM radio stations. The amplifier/filter aspect of this device helps TV station reception during daylight hours which was the main reason for buying. However, I still lose about 10 to 20 stations during the day. It does not solve everything and I did not expect it to - so I gave it a 4 instead of 5. I wonder if it had more gain and/or better filtering if that might help. All in all , I think it is a good value for the money and I would buy it again.

How do you mess up a clear strong signal with a distribution amplifier? VHF signals are fine. It inserts all kinds of noise in most parts of the UHF bands.I was getting better with an inline Antec "smart" amplifier and a high-end 3-way splitter (5db loss).Update: As it turns out, the signal strength from my native antenna input with a GE pre-amp was too strong for this amplifier. So in my case, on my third attempt to use this amplifier, I added a 17db attenuator, killing the noise floor, but also killing several low power digital subchannels that I don't really watch. I fed that greatly reduced signal to the amplifier and it is working like a champ for both VHF Hi and UHF sources. As for attenuation used, all I can say is that is application and location specific. Most of my channels broadcast from 15 miles away, but two of the main networks broadcast from 50 miles away, which is why I needed the pre-amp. I have a number of coax attenuators ranging from 3db to 17db. I found that 12db attenuation would also likely work, but the cleanest signal in my case was the absolute best at removing all the noise from multi-path, LTE, and weather. This GE distribution amplifier then brought everything up to a respectable and solid 50~55% signal strength for all of the channels.I am no longer calling this a junk amplifier, but also clear there is no intelligence with this amplifier...it AMPs the signal, regardless. So keep that in mind when using it.

I bought this because my last one had an thin inferior output cable that wore through because I often swap the TV it's connected to. Plus I had to use a female-female adaptor. This unit had no cables so you can directly attach your existing standard cables. And now I don't have to swap the outputs because this one had four.I could not find the gain specs on this unit, but even without re-scanning channels, I just swapped it out and all the same channels were there, for both TV's.

I have used this for over 4 years. Initially only needing to boost the signal for one TV now I have connected 4. No issues fantastic. I am 32 miles from the broadcast antenna, I get 143 Digital channels with this vs 40ish without and choppy main channels. Now I am looking to connect two more TVs and looking to get something bigger

Does not do what I was look for it to do. I was looking for advancing signal to get better reception and it does not do what I though I was reading in the description and felt that I was led in the wrong direction.
