GREAT Product at a very Affordable Price!
This is my second Meross product. I previously purchased their Wireless Garage Door Opener on "WOOT.com,” and was very pleased. BTW - if you read about Meross' Garage Door Opener disabling your regular opener devices, it is simply NOT TRUE. They have totally eliminated this issue, and I find the opener to work perfectly, reliably, and continue to use my original openers as well. But on to the Smart 3 Way Dimmer Switch Kit! In a word, this Meross product is FANTABULOUS!! Great product!! I had no trouble with installation and the product works PERFECTLY with my Amazon Alexa app. As good or even better than the actual amazon smart plug that I already have. The step by step installation instructions which are part of the Meross App. are a MUST, however. The literally walks you through step-by-step "how to do it" with illustrations and details. I found the Meross Application (easy download on my iPhone) a lot more detailed than the paper instruction booklet. So how does it work with “Alexa?” Perfectly and reliably. I walk into the house and say… “Alexa, turn on Kitchen Light” and on it goes! You can name the device whatever you like, of course. I was also able to add control of this Meross switch to an Alexa routine, so when I come how and go to bed… the kitchn lights go off as part of the programmed routine. I did not have to call Meross Product support for assistance, and I am not an electrician. I would say that for this three way switch, you do need a certain level of general wiring knowledge (see my photos); otherwise I would recommend getting help from a friend or electrician… which Meross also tells you. But if you have or would feel confident putting in a new electrical outlet or regular light switch, you will have no trouble self-installing. But down load the Meross smart phone app first – and let it help you with the install.

Very nice switch but not the easiest install
The switches took me about 20 minutes to install but I have been installing switches for years, not professionally, just about the house and whatnot. I'm used to a variety of switches and these were about what you would expect for a three way, with some complexities. You will have to identify the hot wire, which requires the power to be on for part of the installation, so if you're not comfortable with that, you may want to ask for help. Overall, if you install this with guidance from the app, it's not too difficult. It will guide you through most of the steps, with ONE IMPORTANT EXCEPTION. Since LED lights have different parameters, the master switch comes with a dimming wheel that you can set to the specificity of your lighting system. That means that if you dim your lights down low, some LEDs will flicker because of the way they draw power, creating a strobe effect. The wheel allows you to dial in to the appropriate amount of power for the dimmest setting and is a great (and necessary) feature of the switch. Unfortunately, as of April 2020, the app doesn't bother to tell you this until the system is fully in place and most people will have screwed the switches into place and potentially put the switch plate on. So, when you are installing and have tested the switch with power, VERY carefully pull the master switch out, dim the lights to the lowest setting. If the lights flicker, move the wheel on the bottom back of the master switch until you get the dimmest light with no flickering. Then you can fully install the switch. Functionality with Alexa and Google Assistant are great and the feel of the switches are good too. So other than a slightly more challenging installation, these switches are wonderful.

DO NOT BUY! Switches randomly turn on & off!
BUYER BEWARE: Unfortunately, every bad review you've read is true - including this one. I ignored them, thinking I knew better but I was wrong. If I can save you from all the pain, headache, and lost money and time that I've dealt with, then I've done my job. Here's what happened... I was looking for a 3-way dimmer switch, that would be LED + wifi compatible and would work with Alexa. I usually go with other brands but there are very few options when it comes to 3-way dimmer switches and this switch was one of two switches I found. Since it was decently priced, had a $5 coupon available and would be delivered via Prime, I added a few to my cart and checked out with a smile on my face, thinking I got a good deal. Boy, was I in for a surprise! I bought 4 of these switches and couldn't wait to install them. The installation was pretty straightforward and no different from any other smart switch. The only difference is that this kit comes with two switches. The master switch has a blinking yellow light and the secondary doesn't, which helps identifying the device you need to pair. After installing the switches, the LED lights are either on at full blast or not on at all and you can't control them with the switch itself, which is very strange. You have to first register the switch with their mobile app for it to respond to its own buttons. Because of that, I thought I may have incorrectly wired up the switch but after going through the mobile setup process, I was able to control the lights. But I wasn't the only one controlling the lights! It turns out, every switch but one randomly turns on & off every few minutes which has my young kids utterly terrified. They live in fear of the "ghost lights", as they have called them, and they don't want to leave their bedrooms. It doesn't matter how I try to control the switches - whether it's directly on the switch, the app or Alexa - they cycle on & off at random times. I now avoid touching these lights, which makes them pretty much worthless. The problem is that even if I avoid touching them, they still turn on ON THEIR OWN. Ugh! Since I can't rip them out of the wall, the only way to "turn them off" is to bring the brightness all the way down so that if they do turn on, we don't see the lights coming on. If that wasn't bad enough... ...the secondary switch on two of the switches doesn't work at all. The green indicator light is on but no matter how many times you press the button, it does absolutely nothing. Did I mention they were worthless? Now it also has me thinking that the one working switch is very likely a fluke. I feel it's only a matter of time before it starts acting up too! Every time it comes on, you can't help but glance over to see if someone actually or turned it on or if it's like all the other switches with a mind of their own. For our sanity, we will be returning all the lights and purchasing another brand. The Treatlife switches have been great but they don't have a 3-way LED dimmer switch option yet. I reached out to them and they said that their engineers were working on one but they didn't have a date on when they'd be available. Leviton does have a 3-way switch with a separate remote switch you can purchase as a secondary. I just bought both and look forward to getting rid of the ghost switches for good. Now that brings a smile to my face!

Great functionality, reasonable installation but does not look so good...
Other than 3 Amazon outlets, Everything else in my home automation is from Meross. This helps a lot because I only need an Alexa and a Meross account for all the automation devices like bulbs, garage door opener and switches. I was a little reluctant to pay the price for this 3 way dimmer but I already had a 3 way conventional dimmer in the kitchen and I had to get this so all the lights are controlled by Alexa. Not that I am a super fan of turning on the lights by voice but it is convenient to say “Alexa, goodnight” and have all the lights turned off automatically. I would recommend this 3 way kit if you do not mind the weird look (and reason I gave it only 4 stars) because they are reliable and have been working as advertised. Installation: First let me say that I am an electrician and worked in the business for many years so for me it was very simple to install and in some cases reconfigure the wiring of my house to work with this kit but if you have no knowledge of wiring, I strongly suggest that you get an electrician to install these switches – Note that this is a 3 way dimmer kit which means that you will receive 2 switches and you will have to replace both existing 3 way switches. 1) Installation is easy as long as you have the necessary wires in the switch boxes and that is not just a neutral. (See Wiring Considerations below) 2) The Meross app gives step by step instructions on how to install the switches with very good illustrations 3) They come with some adhesive labels that you can use to mark the wires so once you disconnect the old 3 way switch, you will not mix the wiring. The Good: 1) Both switches have the on/off button and the dimmer control buttons on them. Conventional dimmers are installed only on one of the switches and if you dimmed the light on the dimmer side, you cannot change the light intensity from the other 3 way switch. This Meross dimmer will allow to change the light intensity no matter which of the 2 switches you are using. 2) Meross has very good illustrated instructions for installation and configuration. 3) The switches are not bigger than conventional dimmers or a GFI outlet so they will fit in single gang boxes without a problem as long as the box is not used as a junction for other wiring. 4) Simple to configure. Once the switch is connected to power, the Meross app will guide you through connecting to the switch via WiFi and configuring it to use your home WiFi. Then it is ready to be controlled from the app. 5) Easy integration with Alexa. After the switch is installed and configured on the Meross app, add the Meross skill to Alexa and have Alexa discover new devices. The switch will appear in the Alexa app and it is ready to be controlled by voice. 6) The switch that connects to the power side has status indicator lights on them that are on even when the light is off so you can find the switch in the dark. (More on this under “The Ugly”) 7) WiFi connection is very stable and you can check the signal level from the app. 8) Does not need WiFi to operate as a manual switch. The Bad: 1) Meross does not use Z-Wave or any other home automation protocols. Each device needs an IP address and a typical home network has a total of 255 IP addresses that it can use so there are limitations that may be a problem if you own a big house or you have too many devices on your network. Note that anything that is connected to the Internet in your home uses an IP address so chances are that you already use tenths of addresses. To find out how many addresses are in use, you can login to your home router and look at the DHCP information. 2) It takes a second or two for the action to take place through voice control. Although this is normal because Alexa needs to convey the command to the Amazon servers and the Amazon servers to the Meross servers and from there back to the device, it gives you a funny feeling of uncertainty when you say “Alexa, turn off the light” and nothing happens right away. It gets even more complicated if you have multiple of these devices and Alexa may respond positively but turned off the wrong light. Controlling the switch from the Meross app however, is instant. 3) If you will use a cover plate with screws, the screws are tight to screw on because of the plastic holes and while this is a minor thing, I do not like it when I get the feeling that I am forcing the screws to go in. They do come with clip-on plates but those plates are too thick and they will work if you are installing in a single gang box only so I would not use them. The Ugly: The following things may seem minor but in general they give a weird look. 1) The switch that connects to the power side of the circuit has a red LED indicator at the base of it and 5 green LEDs on the side that show the current brightness selected. For one thing, the red status LED is too bright and in total darkness draws your attention too much. What is worse is that the brightness green light stays on even when the light is off. These strong red and green lights give an unnatural look for a switch and since I got them around Christmas, the switch looked like it was part of the décor. I think that it would be nice if the red LED was on when the light is off but not as strong and the brightness green lights should be completely off when the light is off. Now, I am not asking for anything crazy here since the Meross single poll dimmer switch does not have the brightness indicators on when the light is off so they are doing this for their other products already. There is also a blue LED with the red to show that the light is on but the red does not turn off so it has a funny purple color (blue and red) when the light is on. 2) You have the ability to turn off the red LED from the app but I would prefer it if I could turn off the bright green one. 3) The switch that connects to the light bulb side, does not have any brightness indicator lights on it but the buttons are off center (as if it had indicator lights) and that does not look good. It also has a blue indicator LED that turns on when the switch is on but does not have a red LED that stays on when the light is off like the other switch does. 4) The top and bottom of the switches are thicker than other switches and as a result, the trimming will not be flush with the wall if it is installed in an old work box. However, it is barely noticeable and I can live with it compared to the cover plate that is provided by Meross Wiring considerations: I would like to say first that I am not providing the following information as an installation guide and if you have never done any work with line voltage wiring or you do not feel that you know what you are doing, you should have an electrician do this for you. This work will require you to remove the switches from their boxes and while you have the wires all exposed and some of them disconnected, you will need to turn the power back on and test in order to identify the wires you need to connect to this 3 way kit. Needless to say, you must do this making sure that no one will be near these boxes while the wires are exposed while you turned the power back on. Don’t forget that most people do not look at a switch when they are about to turn on a light so if you went in the basement to turn the power on and the wires are exposed in an area out of your sight, it is possible that someone else in the house may just reach out to turn the light on and touch the live wires. And, after someone gets shocked, they may come after you so the risk of injury or death is there even if they survive 😊 There are multiple ways to wire 3 way switches but you should at least know that 3 way switches have a common contact (typically the contact with the black screw). One switch has the tail end of the light bulb connected to its common contact and the other switch has the power wire connected to its common contact (Meross marks the power/hot wire as “live”). In order to install this kit, you need to make sure that the box that houses the switch with the power wire on its common contact, also contains a white neutral wire. Keep in mind that not every white wire in a 3 way switch box is neutral and if you have a white wire that is connected to any of the switches contacts, it is definitely NOT a neutral. I do not want to bore you with details of what you may or may not have in your switch box but you should know that it is possible to have a 2 gang box that contains a neutral and power wire but the 3 way switch in it is connected to the light bulb and not the power and that will not work so you need to make sure that you located the switch with the 110V power on the black screw and the box of that switch has a neutral wire in it. If you have a neutral but the common contact does not have a power wire connected to it, you can still make it work without running new wires but I suggest to have an electrician reconfigure your 3 way wiring so you end up with the right wires in the right box. Do not use a Non-Contact tester to determine if a wire is hot or not. Electricians use these testers as a quick validation that a box has a power wire in it or an outlet is live but never rely on a Non-Contact tester to identify a single power wire. If you will do this work, you will need a voltage tester or a multimeter that has 2 leads. You should disconnect the wire from the common contact of the switch to test it for power. If you do not wish to disconnect the wire from the common contact (black screw) make sure that the switches are in a position where the light would be off before testing. Touch one lead on the ground wire and the other on the black or red wire you disconnected to see if there is voltage. If you find voltage (110-120V) on that wire, you found the power wire. Remove the tester lead from the ground and touch it to the white wire that you believe is a neutral. If you get voltage between the power wire and the white wire, then you have a neutral. Good luck!

Meross makes Overall a Great Product
Overall this is my second product with Meross, which includes the garage opener. The instructions to installing this was fantastic. The in app installation guide is great and had this hooked up in less that 15 minutes. Please note that you cannot split these switches into 2 different 3 way switches. Overall the build quality feels great, it does not feel cheap and is definitely built too last. It works great and I have no real complaints with the product. Pros - Quality is great, button presses do feel strong and does not feel like it will wear out - Great installation App, Walked me right through and was able to install easy. - Works with Alexa flawlessly. Cons - Though people like that it doesn't require a hub, it would be nice if this had integration with Smartthings. Though you can create a virtual switch within Smartthings, You cannot control the dimming feature. - Buttons are kind of small, I've noticed that I'm trying to feel for the power button in a dark room. Wish it had a more similar design like the Belkin Dimmer switch where it resembled more of a rocker style where you can just push and slide your finger for the dimming preference.

Great Customer Support
What I like most about this product is that it replaces BOTH of the 3-way switches. Many of the competing switches only replace a single 3-way switch which leave a non-dimming "dumb" switch in the configuration. With this product, both switches have the ability to control and dim the lights. Our original shipment came with a damaged switch. I contacted Meross customer service and received an email reply twelve hours later. After sending a photo of the switch connections to verify that the wiring was correct, Meross sent a replacement set of switches within 24 hours. Once the simple installation and configuration were complete, the switches are working as advertised and integrate nicely with our other Meross products. Good product. I would definitely purchase again.

I have 14 of these smart switches in my home so far
These switches are great. I put this dimming 3 way switch on my stairs. I love having smart switches all around the house. Mine are paired with dimmable led lights and they all integrate well with Alexa. I no longer have the battle of lights being left on throughout the house. I can just tell Alexa to run a scene and it will turn them off or can dim them to 1% if I'm watching TV. The meross app also has a neat feature that allows you to set your lights for times (all my lights turn off at 1030) or my outdoor lights turn on an hour before sunset and an hour after sunrise. These also run on your wifi and don't require an additional hub. Pretty cool products and they are easy to set up. The 3 way switch does wire in unlike a typical switch so pay close attention to the layout.

Meross 3-way dimmer switch - interference issue, random shut offs.
No problems with other Meross products, the single pole switches and outlet plugin have been great. The 3 way dimmable switch is another story. As well as many others it appears, I have experienced the same random issues with these switches. They're easy to install, but randomly turn off and occasionally turn on by themselves as well. It may be within a few minutes or sometimes long periods of time, but eventually they will just turn off. I suspect the wi-fi radio or programming is defective on these. ****UPDATE***** I had two sets of these Meross 3-way dimmer switches, when I replaced one of the sets with a different brand, the other Meross 3-way dimmer set started behaving better but still occasionally randomly shuts off. I believe the wi-fi radios between the two Meross 3-way dimmer sets were interfering with each other somehow. Have not had any issues with the Meross single-pole switches I have all over our house, no problems with those at all.

buggy. ghost lighting *** update ***
software/ or hardware failure present, wait 6 months for an updated product. im awaiting warranty direct from meross as the two kits i installed were both defective.. although all the other switches 7 single poles and 4 standard 3 way switches are working fantastic without hitch. i think they just missed the mark on q/c on the 3 way dimmers' they are, as far as i can tell, first to market for dimmer 3 way smart switches that don't use a battery style slave switch. like the header says, these switches will randomly on/off sporadically throughout usage.. ive had them on in the middle of the night like party time until i took them out due to frustration. oh, and the screws that they include are the wrong thread pitch for NA, they are a metric fastener so do not install them into your device box unless you feel like dealing with pulled threads. will update post later with warranty switches if they work properly or are all over the place like these. ** update *** after emailing meross directly i was sent a set of new switches that arrived within 3 days. new switches were obviously newer build as wires were tinned and packaging was slightly different. installed new switches into my gangs. now every light switch on my main floor operates correctly. no random flickering.. dimmable all the way down. my electrician that ran wiring was over checking out the setup and was impressed for cost. great option for those that are willing to risk a bit of a gamble on old/new stock. Im a diy hands on guy so replacing a switch isn't a big deal for me.. note they are larger switches so if you are doing new install for device box i would suggest getting the deepest box available as the wires get messy when more then 2 devices per device box.

A Good Option
Very easy to install and work as promised. Easily connected with Alexa. The dimming feature works, but I would much prefer to have a slider rather than defined incremental steps (although Alexa can adjust to any level you want). There's also something I don't like about the look and feel of the switches. It's a minor concern, but I've seen other switches that have a more premium feel. Despite that, I would recommend these switches.

Great product, needs a neutral wire
Fantastic product, my electrician installed it and said it was very straight forward (we installed them in a new build basement). I ordered two and they work wonderfully with our Google Home. I really like the functionality of the Meross app, and all our smart lighting is Meross so it’s great having it all in one place. It’s a must buy! You do need a neutral wire, so make sure you have that first.

Bad quality, bad dimming, bad controls, bad support, not Canadian compliant
Terrible experience Bad product, 2 of them broke after only 3 years. I switched all my switches with these and I regret terribly. - bad quality, a light switch should not stop working after 3 years - the dimming is not gradual by incremental of 25% so it's really hard to get via the switch the exact lighting you want and you have to hope it's not an incremental that makes the light flicker - the app is horrendous, very limited functionality, no dark mode, doesn't manage homes (they recently added room management though after 3 years) I also have Meross smart plugs and smart power strip, some plugs make a horrible noise we can't use them and the power strip constantly looses wifi. Terrible brand I do not recommend and regret horribly my choice a few years ago to go all in with them.
