Best remote-start by factory key fob on the market EDITED
June 1 2017 EDIT:The device has stopped functioning completely sometime in March, 14 months after it was installed. It started with my Magnum throwing a code for the module no longer being properly programmed to use the fob info to override the security at startup. So the car thought that a non authorized key was being used to start the car. After 3 attempts without the car starting, the car goes into lock down and must be towed to a dealer to unlock the ignition programming. Luckily, I tried once outside the car, and another inside where I caught the mishap. After finding the original install documents, I read that the module could be factory reset. With a factory reset, the module could then be reprogrammed as I had originally. Unfortunately, I only sat in my car for 2 hours trying to figure out why the module was not resetting. I followed the instructions to the tee, and nothing. The module was still responsive and clicked through all the menu's as normal (I changed some easily noticeable settings to prove this). As of now, the module no longer responds to my key presses on my fob, and since it's currently incapable of being reset, it's just junk in my dash. Not sure what I'll do to prepare for the next Michigan winter, might have to find somewhere to reorder just the module for a cheaper cost than this fully assembled one.Overall, the remote start successfully started the car hundreds, if not thousands of times over the last 1.5 years, but now it's broke. Can't reasonably give it 5 stars anymore, knocking this review down to 3 stars because the device did work while it lasted, if even too much.Side note: for the entire life of this remote start system, the car would sometimes start even after only one press of the lock button. Just like when you go to lock your car. So 9/10 times I lock the car and pause before walking away because i'd have to triple press the lock button again to turn it back off. Was a nuisance, but didn't hurt functionality.Overall, the remote start successfully started the car hundreds, if not thousands of times over the last 1.5 years, but now it's broke. I own a 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT Special Edition, and installation took me 10 minutes just because i didn't have all the tools i would need out. The instructions didn't state it well (or I'm a bad reader) but both plugs and the wires you're looking for are attached to the ignition where the key is put in and turned. Firstly, the center bezel with the radio and climate controls were already taken apart from another project, but this made it much more simple to get to 1 of 2 plugs (plug G) as it is on the right side of the ignition. Simply remove the plug and plug into the fuse block box, then plug plug G into the slot you just removed the other plug from. Bam, halfway there! For plug H, remove the panel under the steering wheel and the metal plate behind it (3 screws and 4 10mm bolts). The plug can be seen from under the steering wheel and is now easily accessible. To remove plug H, there is a red lock on the top that needs to be pulled towards the driver side of the vehicle, then the plug just snaps down and out. This is plug H that you will be putting the 2 wires in. Since we started on the right side of the ignition, the 2 wires will need to be run around/under the ignition. If it is anything like mine, the colors will not coordinate with the given wiring color scheme, so from RIGHT to LEFT with the plug facing you and the red lock on top, the green/red wire goes with the 2nd wire and the purple wire goes with the 4th wire. This can be seen on the 4th page of instructions where wires J and plug H connect. After all plugs have been double checked, go ahead and program your key, it's very straightforward in the instructions. Now I tried starting the car immediately via remote start, and the car did not start. This was due to the fact that the doors were not locked. The doors must be locked or else the car will not start up and will honk twice (I think it's twice, don't quote me.) Since the car locks the doors during the remote startup sequence, the car is now able to be remotely started! This gave me a heart attack as I thought I did something wrong until it started on the second go.Now that it's been tested, go ahead and put the panels back on beneath the steering wheel. Since the center bezel was off, I stuffed the module with the light down with the climate controls. This way all I had to do was pop off the bezel and remove a couple plugs to get to it which makes it entirely tool-less in case something happens (which I hope nothing ever does.) After the center bezel is put back on, you're road worthy again! One thing that does make me nervous about this system is that the range is determined by your factory key fob. You can only start the vehicle from as far away as you can lock and unlock it. Currently, my car is close enough to my apartment to always get a signal, but at work it's a whole new story. In the least, this is the first step into remote start and is very simple and plug and play. 5 stars all around!

Does what it says
It does what it says. I wouldn't call it "plug n' play" because a couple of wires do need to be spliced, but it is an overall easy installation. I Followed the directions and had it working in 30 minutes. My only gripe with the product is that the timing between your 3 button presses is too finicky. If you press it too fast or too slow the car won't start. Also there is no way to tell if the car is running.

Could not be happier!
So if you know anything about cars and have a little bit of knowledge about electrical this will be a breeze for you it literally took me 15 minutes to install and about 15 seconds to program and works as advertised. Awesome product!
