Saved my hands & wrists-used instead of crutches or cane.
I have non-operable metastatic tumor areas in my pelvic bone. I am able to walk on the affected leg but try to take the weight off as much as possible. I was given a walker, crutches, and a cane to use, which over the months all hurt my hands and wrists. My mom encouraged me to get these (thanks, Mom!) and I LOVE them. The design and height of the handles (with adjustable slings) keeps my hands and wrists in the most ergonomically neutral position. I'm 5'3 and these poles just barely adjust low enough for me (I lucked out-should have checked that before buying and opted for the women's size). I use a single stick most often which helps immensely going up & down stairs, and for times when I need to use my other hand to carry something. Using only one stick does help support me getting around in the house but when walking outside I use both walking sticks and feel athletic and free again! I love gliding around with these! They provide a lot of comfort and security but should mention that if I need supported getting up off the ground, I feel more secure using the arm crutch. If I know I'm going into a building I use one stick as a cane so I can use my other hand. I keep the second stick folded in my back pack in case I need extra support. At first I thought I might look silly but no longer care when people ask me how the skiing is! I am able to move in a more natural way and get some incredible feeling exercise! So I don't care but think they look sporty. *I bought the Leki rubber tip for around $19 but it is solid and necessary. Last thing: if you get stuck like I did trying to assemble, watch this youtube video to see how to 1) align the 3 segments; 2) extend down to cover; pull down firmly until lock engages/pops out. from Montana to Machu Picchu
;used the walking sticks for my hike around Machu Picchu and everywhere in between, they worked great and were very stable, not one time did I feel that they would let me down.

Top shelf trekking poles
I just hiked to the bottom and back at the South Kiabob Trail at the Grand Canyon with my Leki’s. They are awesome and were a huge help on both the descent and ascent, especially with the large volume of water I had to carry. They are very lightweight and durable. I’ve bought cheaper trekking poles in the past and had issues with the internal locks slipping at bad times that could have caused injury. These are solid. No concerns about failure with these. They’re a must have for serious outdoor adventures.

Nice gripping action
I really like the grip on this pole. It’s easy to setup. Yet I’m very disappointed with the shock system. It doesn’t provide enough spring as older Leki models did. On my decent from a mountain I couldn’t place the pole as I had with older models or the poles would bounce on me since there was not sufficient spring to the shock system. The shock system is really just a one inch piece of rubber at the bottom of the pole, quite insufficient for me

Very nice, but pricey.
These are super comfy to use and very helpful to use for me as a chubby hubby. The height adjustment where the nub pops out is a little tough, too tough for my wife to do alone, but it's supposed to be so it doesn't retract mid hike.

Just what was needed.. functioned perfectly!
These trekking poles functioned very well, provided good support while hiking consecutive days in Yosemite. Adjusted easily, sturdy and traveled in suitcase without difficulty.

It is not a pair of poles! Just one!
It is not a pair of poles. It is just one pole!
