Review: Barbarian Alien ~ Sad, sweet, and sexy!
Barbarian Alien is book two in the Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon. Here we have Liz and Raahosh story. The world and characters Ms. Dixon has created are fascinating. Each character is unique and you can connect to them. I like the dual-POV’s. They help give us both Liz and Raahosh perspective. We have a couple here who need to work on their communication. Raahosh is not a talker and Liz, well she talks too much. Raahosh has some deep wounds in his soul that need healing. Having a mate gives him that chance to finally heal and have a family, but it doesn't come easily. Liz puts up a fight. The one thing I really didn’t like was Liz’s treatment of Raahosh. I dislike a heroine who will smack a hero. I get that she is frustrated with her situation and that many if not all of her choices have been taken away from her, but to treat Raahosh the way she does with her actions and words, was disappointing. It made me dislike Liz.Finally around the 35% range Liz has a revelation and gets her ass in gear. She apologizes and gives him a chance and starts to learn about the world. Once they progress, I finally fell into the story. They have a few challenges to get through with the tribe; before they can be together. It’s sad, sweet, and sexy.I’m very much enjoying this Sci-Fi Romance series. Even though Barbarian Alien was not at the top of my list in this series. I still enjoyed it enough to go out and buy the next book. All the characters have enthralled me.Rated: 3.5 Stars

Very addictive and intriguing
One of the best things I love when reading is a series, is that you can read them as a standalone. This is book two out of this series, but you can read it as a standalone. I would check out book one, as it goes into more details about how the girls got to the Ice Planet, but then again, book one was amazing too. This one was a bit different than the first. It's good and bad that the story is different, but bad because I found myself not liking the heroine until around the middle of the book. Liz is someone who's headstrong, and she likes things done in a certain way. Although I understood her reluctance to certain things, I also felt she was being mean and stubborn for no reason. Honestly, Liz is a very complicated person, so maybe that's why I felt the way I did.Rasshosh, surprised me the most with this one. You do meet him in book one, and my first impression was that I wasn't going to like him at all. But the more I continued to read, the more I feel in love with him. There are a lot of things that I didn't know or understand until this one, so I'm glad I read it.I enjoyed the aspect of humans mixing with alien culture too. At the end of book one, I just assumed everything would be fine and smooth sailing. However, that's not entirely true. I really loved how Ruby Dixon gave me a picture of their people and what rules they have to follow.I'm really looking forward to reading the next book. I honestly don't know what to expect because so far, I've been surprised too many times.

When stranded on an Alien Planet, Go Native
I'm having a great time with this series. If you have to be stranded on a an ice cold planet that reminds all the earth girls of Hoth from Star Wars, it is nice to have some tall, hot, blue, well hung aliens to keep you warm.Liz has a mouth on her. She is a talker and tall dark and silent Raahosh just resonated to her.“I’m kidnapped by aliens, forced to eke out a living on an ice planet, and now I’m basically married to Mr. Tall, Dark, and Super Pissy.”Still it could be worse, oh wait he has just separated her from all the humans so they can have some alone time together to figure it all out. There might be consequences later, for now Liz and Raahosh are going to figure out what it means to be mated.Normally I'd care that a big blue alien basically kidnapped the human but lets face it the cootie inside the couples chest that has picked them out to be together basically makes it totally okay for me and I just go with it. I love how mouthy and sarcastic Liz is and how utterly baffled Raahosh is by her. I also grew to really love the relationship they share.Really fun and steamy alien porn with a decent plot. I like it!

I'm so loving this series!
Okay, so I thought I really liked book one, but to me, this one was a little bit better. It took me a bit to warm up to Liz, but the more I read, the more I really liked her. And Raahosh, yeah, he might act little a big ole brute, but he’s actually just a big ole mushy softie, and I adored him so much. So, Raahosh’s khui or the cootie, as Liz calls it, lights up right away for Liz. I honestly think he knew he was going to be in for a fight, because she is so hard headed, so he “takes” her away from the tribe. This gives them time together alone from the others, and he wants Liz to be his mate no matter what.Yes, Liz is a little bit crabby for the most part, but hey, you would be too, if you were captured by aliens, held against your will, dropped on a new ice planet, took a symbiont into your body in order to survive, and then told that you had to mate with someone and carry their baby. That’s actually a lot to take in, and she isn’t going down without a fight. No matter what he stupid little cootie says.To me, Raahosh is so misunderstood to his tribe, as well as Liz in the beginning. He’s quiet and a bit overbearing at times, but in all honesty, he’s actually just shy and scared of rejection. His back story is a bit rough, and he is also a little scarred, which makes him different from everyone else. He’s a virgin, and he just wants to be mated and loved like a normal man (barbarian). I mean, how freaking sweet is that.I honestly loved the slow build between these two, and it makes the story that much sweeter. There were so many funny parts, and I laughed out loud more than once. I really grew to love these two so very much. Their bond is amazing, and I love how Liz stepped up for Raahosh, when no one else did. They are actually adorable together, and I can’t wait to jump right into the next one. I guess I am hooked now for sure.

Loved it
Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Liz is so sarcastic and it this hilarious as she uses a lot of salt which plot Raahosh doesn't understand. He also seems like a bit of an arsenal but you quickly realise that he is actually quite sweet. On to the next one.

a must read.
sweet, sexy, romantic and exciting; liz is tough and funny without being arrogant and annoying and raahosh is every woman's dream man, or alian he really is the kindest and sweetest thing ever. i don't do spoilers but the ending really pulled at the heart stings, and at one part i really did cry, (i know such a sobby sack) Really never thought I'd have fantasies about being kidnapped by aliens but raahosh can come and kidnap me anytime. i'm really Can't wait to read the next book, but no date yet? Why? Come on ruby, you can't hook us and then us dangling - not fair. i thought the first book was good, but barbarian alien is even better.

So great! I'm already eagerly awaiting the next in the series. It has so many of my favourite tropes like Caves, Language Barriers, Hate That I Love You, hulking great aliens, self-loathing heroes... It's all great! Definitely more than satisfied!
