A blessing from heaven to music industry
I have a soft spot for Rebecca Furguson. The reason is because there are people in my family with the last name Ferguson and one name is named Rebecca. In all seriousness, though. I had a hard time getting used to this CD. Don't get me wrong, her album is great. The lyrics are emotionally charged and the music feels like it matches the mood of each song very appropriately (especially RUN FREE). What bothered me the most at first about this CD was Rebecca's voice! I know its silly. She is blessed with natural rasp, and she has such an even tone while she sings. Her voice sounds very mature and her overall music making ability seems very developed throughout this album. Now that I appreciate Ms. Furguson's voice far more, I really enjoy this album. It's classy, its soulful, its refreshing, its heaven to my ears! There are still sections of this album where I think Rebecca could have taken her voice further by yelling or roaring every so often. That is my only complaint anymore.Amazon says this album is simply a pop album, but cramming it into that genre robs her of a fan base. I think there is a lot of great R&B, jazz, soul tones to this album. In comparison to other similar artists, Emeli Sandé seems far more poppy than Rebecca Ferguson. Their overall style seems very different in general, though. Also, her overall artistry surpasses Elle Varner's for sure. More accurate comparisons to her would be Missy Higgins, Sara Bareilles and maybe ZZ Ward

Rebecca Ferguson hits a home run with this EXTENDED LIMITED EDITION CD
I have the HEAVEN CD but I wanted this one for the bonus tracks. I enjoyher live performances immensely and for me these are worth the extra money.I first discovered Rebecca on X Factor in Britain. She is a true success story.Being a single mother from Liverpool and rising to such a level is a marvel. And so is her voice and her song writing abilities. When asked to record songsfor her first record I understand she declined and felt she should write her ownmaterial to be taken seriously. Both her HEAVEN CD and this FREEDOM CDare examples of fine songwriting, excellent production values and beautifulvocals. There are elements of Aretha Franklin and Sade but only slightly. She is truly unique and a pleasure to listen to - over and over again.5 stars for Rebecca!

Amazing voice
Having recently viewed this performers X Factor Uk experience, I could not wait to get my hands on this cd. Her songs are from her life experiences and they are a reflection of the person that Rebecca is. Her voice is instantly recognisable, classy and songs well written. Love ALL the songs on the cd, which is hard to say for even the most accomplished artists. I am consuming the cd on songs Shoulder to Shoulder, Teach Me How To Be Loved and the more up tempo Backtrack. Cannot wait for her next work to be released hopefully soon! Love it!

Great music for your collection!!!
Rebecca Ferguson is an artist with listening to and adding to your listening collection. She has wonderful soul voice and her music is extremely good. I love to play her music as I am driving around or when I'm at home. My favorites are "Mr. Bright Eyes" "Too Good too Lose" "Run Away" "Teach me how to be loved" and "Diamond to the Stone".

Satisfying
I first heard Rebecca Ferguson on my TV Music Channel quite by accident. I am someone who rarely listens to the radio due to the lack of true music there. I was intrigued by her voice and obvious roots in R&B. I sampled additional tracks of Heaven on Amazon and was willing to take the risk and purchased it. I was completely satisfied and even more impressed with the live and acoustic versions of her songs. Would love to catch her in concert. If you are a real music lover, particularly R&B then some faith will be restored that there is good music being made out there.

Each and every song tugs at your every emotion!! While listening to the melody and the lyrics to "Shoulder To Shoulder", my eyes weld up as it truely took me to the memories of past loves and nuances of my current love!!! "Shoulder To Shoulder" will be a single that will hit big world wide. She will be showered with award accolades next year!!

Great Find
This is one of those rare albums where you can listen from start to finish and the whole album leaves you feeling refreshed and in awe of what beauty people are capable of. Rebecca Ferguson is full of soul. I stumbled onto this album and found out she was a contestant on the British X Factor. My wife and I watched her progress through the show on You-tube with the judges reactions. It was very enjoyable to see her evolve from her nervous and tearful audition (where her voice carried her through) to a her final performances where she was radiating with self confidence and blew away the audience and judges. Heaven makes the most of her remarkable voice. She is a rare talent and I hope she gives us many more albums in the future.

Emotional Intelligence as a Songwriter
Obviously Rebecca has an amazing voice as big as a planet. She has the talent to offer music without superficial gimmicks, it's the real deal. The impressive aspect of her work is the songwriting. Her emotional intelligence is stunning. In 'Shoulder to Shoulder' we have a spot on presentation of a co-dependent, dysfunctional relationship. The true and utter genius of a work such as this is that the song is seamlessly crafted so as the music and vocals directly and closely reflect the emotions she wishes to convey. She sings of the pain the couple dance to with real familial gusto, then appeals for love to be 'free' with a tentative tone which reflects the fear of moving to the unknown, however right she knows that unknown to be. It terrifies me how such a young, beautiful and talented woman knows the dark side so intimately, my only salve is that she can articulate it so spectacularly so we are reminded we are only human.

I hate x factor and everything it stands for with a passion, but I caved at this album. Rebecca's voice is amazing. Nothing's real but love is a song so under-rated. and there are a few more gems on this album too.To date this is the only x factor act that I have in my collection. She deserves greater success, but the powers of simon cowell/syco have a negative/poison hold over their past contestants and they have allowed her to fade away

Great Debut.
I only watch the X Factor auditions, as its like watching a train crash, so many deluded people, and a fair proportion of idiots.Anyway I was lucky enough to see the Rebecca Ferguson audition. She sang a Sam Cooke number perfectly. It was apleasure to listen to, and I knew she would do well.Originally I bought Heaven when it first came out as I was curious to what choices she had made. I thought it was a great debut album. Then the company released the deluxe album, and I bought that as well, purely to get the bonus tracks. The last track is live and is great. Hopefully she will make the right choices and build on this great start. How about an album of Sam Cooke covers Rebecca?

Absolutely amazing album
I cannot put it into words how much I love this album and her amazing voice but I will try.I would not buy an album twice but I did on this one, I just had to buy the deluxe edition as the original heaven album was heaven, her voice, the lyric content, the music, the production everything about the album was perfect. I won't go into all the songs but just to say all ages and types of music lovers should have this in there music collection, she can touch you with her lyrics and voice , you can actually feel her pain, frustration and happiness in each song and the deluxe version has 5 extra songs all equally amazing. The only thing I'd say is these extra 5 songs would have being a great edition to a brand new album where we might have got a further 7 or 8 more new cracking songs, so unfortunately we will have to wait a while longer to hear a new album from Rebecca but I'm not complaining the deluxe version is magicI know she has a new management team in place and really hope they steer Rebecca in the right direction as her next album will be crucial to her career. All I can say is buy it you will not be disappointed . I can see one reviewer was giving out about the the way the CD was delivered, complain to the supplier and get a life , don't tarnish this amazing album.

Interesting and surprising
I have heard the album before I bought it but sometimes there are those songs you don't notice or even don't like at first and then they just grow on you and this album has a few of the kind. It is a pleasure to listen to it and Rebeccas voice I liked from the x-factor, I promised myself I will buy her album just for her voice and I'm pleased that I like the music and the songs as much as I like her voice:)
