Doesnt work on my HX-851, Marine VHF, but then again, it didnt say it would either...
PLEASE NOTE: THIS REVEIW IS OF MY ATTEMPT TO USE THIS PRODUCT ON A RADIO TRANSCIEVER OTHER THAN THE ONE IT IS CALLED FOR. THIS IS BEING WRITTEN TO KEEP THOSE WHO MAY BE SEARCHING FOR A HEADPHONE LISTENING SOLUTION FOR OTHER YEASU RADIO'S, AS THERE ARE ALOT...I cant really give a bad review as the product is quality made. It just doesn't work for my purposes.I own a Standard Horizon HX-851, the Marine VHF unit. This accessory fits the radio perfectly, threading in just like it would on a VX-7.The problem lies in the pinout of the conductors (tip, ring. sleeve). I don't have specifics other than when you attempt to plug in a standard 3.5mm headphone (3 conductor) or Headset with mic (such as Samsung S3 headset) (4 conductor - Addl band is microphone), Well, it doesn't work.I'm confident its a pinout issue because when I insert the headphones, the radio will TX.So, the product is good and I'm sure it will work fine for what its stated for, just not for unit HX-852(Although, with it being Yeasu / Standard Horizon we're talking about here, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if you have to buy a specific headset too for this adapter to work with even the VX-7, but I cannot confirm this.)

Good to connect into CT91 receiving radios
I used this adapter to connect a Sena SR10-10 Bluetooth Adapter for Two-Way Radios to my Yaesu FT-270R. Senna only comes with a cable that has the Yaesu thread-less connector (Sena SC-A0114) and this cable with the Yaesu CT91 threaded connector, allows to bridge the two systems. While w/o this connector I would be totally lost, I have to take two stars off my review because the first cable I bought did not work. I couldn't get it to lock into the Yaesu jack and all I got was radio reception but no transmission. It was only when in total desperation I bought a second one, that everything fell into place. So 5 stars for function, 2 stars for quality. Hopefully this one will not break on me. UPDATE: SECOND CABLE LASTED 6 MONTHS. Usually transmission is the first thing to go. Still, no alternatives out there but changing radio.
