The cover on this book is beautiful and whimsical. It came in perfect condition. I love Grimms fairytales, and the fairy tales coupled with the awesome cover and good condition makes this a good buy. Yay for puffin books!

Well if you want to read to children, I forgot how scary the stories can be to little ones. I suggest 8-9 year olds. Or change the endings!

Great book for all the fans of classic fairy tales, me included. The book is of course in Old English grammar, which is grand. And it is printed in the U.K. so you'll see a lot of 'single quotations' rather than "double quotations".The only con is the stories aren't the "original" version per se. The Frog Prince for example turned human again by sleeping in the princess's pillow, but the original version, the prince turns human again after the princess violently throws him against the wall. But I guess it's for the kids to read more so than adults. Still worth getting. I'm still pleased.

great for a gift and perfect for fantasy lovers

I believe I had a larger format edition of this exact book in the 80s. I recognize Arthur Rackham's artwork. I love having it in a sweet little pocket sized hardcover.I actually have two Collector's Library copies. I bought my first copy before Macmillan acquired CRW's collector's library. Back then they came with striped jackets and red cloth covers. Later they came out with a colour edition which Macmillan has republished as this one. The paper is nice and thick and the artwork is richly coloured. What a beautiful miniature book!

Fairy Tales are just awesome. They're even more awesome when you add that spooky twist that the Grimm's are famous for. You can't go wrong with this book. But be warned: don't read it at night unless you want to be up all night long.

This is a book I grew up with and was hoping to receive the book with the cover shown. When I received the book it included the same stories but had a very different cover than shown.
