Daewoo 1-Gang Extension, White, 2 m

I recently bought the Daewoo 1-Gang Extension Lead with a 2-metre cable to help manage a slightly awkward plug arrangement behind my TV unit, and it’s been exactly what I needed — no fuss, no frills, just solid performance from a brand I trust. First impressions were good — the packaging is simple, and the product itself is cleanly built. The casing is a bright white plastic, smooth to the touch, and blends in well with walls or skirting. It doesn’t have that cheap, yellowy tinge you sometimes see with budget electricals, and the overall finish feels neat and well-manufactured. The 2-metre cable is a good length for general use. It’s especially handy when the nearest wall socket isn’t quite close enough for a lamp, fan, or phone charger — long enough to give flexibility, but short enough to avoid cable clutter or needing to coil up metres of unused wire. In my case, I used it to power a floor lamp that sits a little too far from the socket to reach without strain, and this extension sorted that without issue. In terms of performance, it’s flawless. The plug fits snugly into the wall, and the socket firmly holds whatever’s connected. There’s no looseness, sparking or crackle — just a safe, reliable connection. I’ve used it to power a lamp, laptop charger, and even an electric heater (briefly), and it handled them all with ease. It’s rated for 13 amps and has the BS1363 safety markings, which gives me peace of mind — especially since I’ve had cheaper, off-brand extension leads in the past that weren’t clearly certified. With Daewoo, I feel confident that it’s been properly tested and built to UK standards. The plug end is a standard moulded type — easy to grip and doesn’t get hot with use. The cord is flexible but not flimsy, and it lays flat fairly easily with a bit of coaxing. No tangling or twisting after a few weeks of use, which is always a good sign. If I were being picky, I’d say it would be nice if there was a version with a slimline plug for tight spaces, or a wall-mounting hole to help fix it tidily, but for most people’s everyday use, this basic model is just fine. In short, this is a well-made, affordable extension lead that’s ideal for simple home or office use. Solid construction, trustworthy branding, and no complaints in daily use. Highly recommended if you just need a single socket with a bit of reach — exactly what an extension lead should be.

To keep things looking tidy, I needed an extension cable with a single socket. After some searching, I thought that this would look the best while also being decently solid. It wasn’t any cheaper than a multi gang extension - but I’m still very happy with it. Good buy.
