I was burning trough gloves and this kept my hand cool and hand protection from burning to a crisp
Shields very well when doing overhead MIG 10 gauge. I was burning trough gloves and this kept my hand cool and hand protection from burning to a crisp.

However I am welding 8-10 hours a day so having that In mind they work great for the average home/farm welder
If you are using Flux core these shields only last a few days of welding before they are broken down. TIG, and stick welding I get a few weeks out of the shield. However I am welding 8-10 hours a day so having that In mind they work great for the average home/farm welder. I still buy them and use them in my shop because my gloves last longer and I have less heat burns on my hands lolJK Fabrication

Will not last forever. does the job while it works.
This is a cheap product and will not last forever. being aluminum coated the foil easily melts off with hot weld Spackle flying everywhere and the edges fray quickly. For the price it does its job for a while, which is keeping your hand protected from the heat of welding allowing me to complete numerous vertical and overhead passes without having to worry about burning my hand because i would up in a position where my hand was a little close or I want to finish the stick to get my tie-ins where I want them. You get what you pay for and this is 5 stars for the cost.

Great Product! Displaces heat and and saves your gloves
Great Product! Displaces heat and and saves your gloves. Keep in mind this is a wear and tear item, I bought my first one and it lasted about 6 months of hard use. I just ordered two more!

these are the best. They last
I use these as an industrial structural welder. We run 1/16 Flux core wire @30 volts and around 300 IPM. It can get very hot. Of all the hand shields I have tried, these are the best. They last, they hold up, and make an excellent prop.

Good for infrequent use.
Works for a little while, but wears out quickly. I'd only recommend using this for occasional welding at lower temperatures. It you use it with any serious heat for more than a few hours, the reflective coating will vanish, the inside strap will disintegrate and the pad itself will periodically burst into flames.

Cheap price cheap product
Worn it for a few days and already starting to deteriorate but for the price that’s kind of expected. Fraying on edges, aluminum fibres coming off, strap is starting to fray as well
