I wa not sure if this was a good idea being a "foreign" import although the cover s in another language, the dvd plays well in English all,g with other languages and is good quality

Brilliant. Just like a UK version. Played in English straight away. However the cover artwork is all in German.

Brilliant scenes, brilliant acting, brilliant production, brilliant story, brilliant production, wardrobe, and everything to do with this series.... beautiful .... just beautiful. Why it is shown as 3 stars when I bought it I will not know. Thank you for a great time over the 8 seasons. Cheers to all involved. I look forward to buying the DVD so I can finish the collection on my shelf. Beside the likes of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Godfather, plus others of this standard.

It was almost inevitable, in this era of obsessive fandom, that the conclusion to a series as rich, complex and engaging as Game of Thrones wouldn’t please everyone. There’s no doubt that, without the genius of George RR Martin’s novels to draw from, the characterisation and dialogue lose quite a bit of the subtlety, nuance and sheer wit of the earlier seasons. But the visuals are stunning, the spectacle amazing, and the storyline reaches a statisfying conclusion, managing to tie up the dozens of plot threads in a plausible and intelligent way. The character arc of Daenerys Targaryen, which has caused such controversy, is actually completely believable, even if the conclusion is a little rushed. This brilliant epic tale of power, love and hope reaches a thought-provoking conclusion.

This is the German release of Game of Thrones season 8 but the menu page is English, the default language is English and the default subtitle option is none. A British viewer therefore would not notice anything different to a standard UK release when playing the 4K discs. Unlike the UK 4K release you also get the whole season in Blu-ray format as well.

Whats not to like ? Fabulously written characterisations , this beautiful story expands into the realms of earth like fantasy history . We have a kind of ancient Greece meets the Vikings with European dynasties all topped off with the legend become reality of loyal dragons in war and peace. Costumes make up and sets are wonderful . Occasionally over the top violence is soon side stepped by the need to see how everything pans out . Here is the final series of one of the best shows on earth . Very sexy. It wont disappoint .

Die achte Staffel von Game of Thrones bringt die lange erzählte Geschichte zu einem packenden Ende. Trotz der Kürze der Staffel schafft es jede Folge, Spannung, Drama und große Momente zu liefern. Die Inszenierung ist atemberaubend: epische Schlachten, beeindruckende Effekte und eine düstere, stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre ziehen einen sofort in die Welt von Westeros. Besonders gefallen hat die emotionale Tiefe der Charaktere – viele Handlungen und Entscheidungen sind nachvollziehbar und zeigen, wie sehr sich die Figuren über die Jahre entwickelt haben. Die Staffel ist intensiv, lässt mitfiebern und sorgt dafür, dass man jede Minute genießt.

*** SPOILERS *** if you haven't watched it yet, don't read. Of course this is just my opinion only. The last season of GOT was jarring. Gone are all of the colorful scenes - fantastic colors in the gardens, clothing, furnishings, etc. Season 8 is dark and dreary - took me a bit to get used to it, but it's up north and how it should be. Did it have a happy ending? No. Most wars never do, so GOT was rather realistic in that area. I was sorry to see Daenerys die, but she was too dangerous to keep around. She definitely stopped being that 'caring person of the people' person. Can't keep her in jail for the rest of her life, can't set her free as she would never give up. Cersie - she did everything she possibly could to stay a ruler but it just didn't work. She and Jamie realized it at the end and knew there was just nothing else except death. So they stood there and took it. With her personality, I think it was do or die. Then the war is over and suddenly everything just seems quiet. So people tend not to know where to go next for a few seconds. Big change of pace for this series. Then they get back to business of voting in a new ruler and try to clean up the devastation. So yes, a lot of people hated season 8, hard to go from a fast paced colorful adventure, to a cold barren north country with everyone sitting around in their furs drinking Tim Hortons coffee. I can see why a lot of people hated it. For me, it was more on the realistic side (maybe some think since this was a fantasy, we should have had a happy fantasy ending), even though it was fantasy. I did think some scenes were way too dark, why does everything have to happen at night? The King of the Dead had no problem being in the daylight. I've only watched season 8 once, and that was when it was airing on TV so maybe my views will change a bit when I watch it again. Otherwise, GOT was FANTASTIC!!! Freaking GREAT series!!! I am very gratful it was made.
