Chops the weeds and dig the roots better than a typical hardware hoe
It came with a good price and has the quality of some hoes that are better made. It is made of a cast steel of good quality. the edge had a clean sharp even surface about it. I was able to get the handle at a local hardware store. It is a little heavier and a little narrower than the common hardware a hoe which is a bonus when it comes to chopping and or routing out weeds it does the job.

Excellent hoe
Have their 8 inch blade and this works on same handle for more concentrated chopping

PERFECT FOR SMALL WORK
This tool head is very small, smaller than you think. It worked really well for spot areas removing roots, but not something you can use for large areas. The dimensions are taken from behind the handle, not just blade area. So be careful. It is light enough for a smaller person to raise and strike with adequate force, it can do some real damage to roots if you keep it sharp enough. It does come with a screw to fasten to your handle, I don't use it because I'd like to use one handle for two heads. I would recommend this tool for anyone that does gardening or needs a specialized tool for removing roots, tilling soil and or clearing out swales of sediment. The curved shape is very useful and the reinforcements make this a tool one I'll surely have for a lifetime.

My main reason for buying this is to remove wild raspberry roots and other roots like tag alder
The Seymour 2E-G60 Grub Hoe exceeded my expectations. It is very heavy duty and also quite well balanced when mounted on the handle which I bought at our local hardware store. My main reason for buying this is to remove wild raspberry roots and other roots like tag alder. I can chop this hoe down next to the root clump and then pry the entire root right up easily. There is a screw hole on top of the round part of the hoe head to help hold the handle on if needed. This tool came as sharp as I would ever want it - ready to go out of the box. Very fast shipping and well packaged. Bravo Amazon!

grub hoe 4 1/2 inch head
This hoe has no handle that come with it. I found a local hardware store to get one from. It is a good hoe for the money. it is 4 1/2 inches wide so its good for hoeing around plants or in between them. you don't have to worry about it coming out of the handle unless you break the handle or the ring that slides down thur it.

Great for chopping weeds and small shrubs!
Perfect for chopping tough weeds and small shrubs. If you have tough weedy plants, and tough soil, get this heavy duty grub hoe and put away your whimpy garden hoe. I ordered the Seymour brand handle at the same time, and the combined shipping cost was quite reasonable. The hardwood handle, offered by the same vendor, should last forever. It and the blade are a perfect match. The blade and handle actually weigh less than I expected, and it shouldn't be too tiring swinging this tool for long periods of time. The photo on the Web makes the blade look narrow. But, it is 4 1/2 inches wide, and seems to be about the right size for chopping tough weeds. The 60 inch handle is far more comfortable than having to bend over using a mattock. However, the grub hoe won't completely replace a mattock for the toughest shrubs.

Does not look at all like the picture
Does not look at all like the picture. It's just a slender hoe about half the width of this type of hoe. The casting is Very rough. Hopefully this doesn't impact the tools durability when i put it to use in the spring. It did fit on the handle very well.

decent grub hoe/ good value
a perfectly good grub hoe and it will slice thru roots too. product came with some flashing around the inside of the mounting hole that needed to be cleaned up with a round metal file before affixing the handle
