If you are looking for a sturdy portable radio with decent quality sound, this is it! I like listening to the AM band, and the reception for AM isn't good where I live so a radio with poor reception capability becomes real obvious. So far, my Sony and Panasonic radios work awesome. Needless to say, both AM and FM receptions are superb. I'm not into testing each radio for its sensitivity but more for its practical use. And the Retekess TR-604 is a superb radio! It has a very big and decent speaker with a sensitive DSP turner that locks into weak signals with ease. You can easily fine tune it unlike some other DSP radios. This radio takes 3 - "D" size batteries so it should have a very long battery life even with non-alkaline batteries. Unlike some of the newer Sony and Panasonic radios, the Retekess has hi & low tone control knob. I prefer it on the low since the high makes the sound too tinny. Besides that, the design and build are straight forward and sturdy. For a radio under $20.00, I'd say this is a very good deal.

Not a bad sound. Wish they were clearer about batteries. I think they are C??? Sound isn't bad and actually with the price quite good. Easy to figure out. Minor complaint, the cord is too short for me, maybe at best 2 feet. I decided to cut the cord with greedy internet company and use my phone hot spot but I still wanted to listen to NPR without using data. So this radio fills the bill. Nice size. Not too small and not huge.

Great little radio! In my opinion the sound is clear even w with the use of head phones! One review said not good at all with earphones ! I disagree I use cheap wired ear buds at night when I go to bed ,helps me sleep and this radio is very clear and easy on and off as well to adjust stations! Most radios don't work well in my Manufactor home ,usually very static ,this one works without static! Im not sure how to use the rechargeable battery, but you can use with regular batteries ,it has a good regular plug! Im not sure how long batteries will last as I haven't tried yet! It all suits my needs buy it costs is great and you won't be sorry!

GREAT radio. It pulls in stations when others don’t. I love it. Batteries last a long time in it too. Sound is fine. Not hi-fi, but it bad either. I recommend it for the price, size, and the way it receives distant stations better than the average radio. I find myself using it a lot more that I thought I would. Also / I dropped it once from ten feet up, and the case cracked a little but I glued it and it kept going just fine. A+!

As a customer, I might have made a wrong decision, but Amazon, as an organization, allowing 110V equipment in India shows Amazon's greed. My mother plugged this radio into a 220V supply and could not use this radio for even a day.

Excelente radio y fácil de usar. Excelente recepción (hay que alejarlo de aparatos electrónicos ya que hace interferencia en AM) como se menciona en la descripción es apto para su uso en personas de la tercera edad, buen diseño y se escucha fuerte y su salida para conectar audífonos es algo que se agradece.
