Chinese calligraphy for "Qi" in a necklace/pendant. Qi (Pinyin: Qi; Wades Giles: Ch'i). Literally translated to air, breath or gas. But in the context of Chinese philosophy or medicine, Qi is most often translated as "intrinsic energy" or "life force". Most importantly, it means many things depending on the context of it's useage. Some think the fictional "force" in Star Wars originated from the concept of Qi. Approximately .75 x 1.25" rectangular metal bezel with thick glass front. The glass magnifies the calligraphy image slightly and the bezel's finish and thick casting gives it a vintage look.
