If they fit right, they're definitely worth the price.
Wow. I just looked and the price went up to $129. I paid $78 and I thought that was high. But just keep an eye on them, the price fluctuates a lot.I really want to help people decide whether to get these jeans or not. I pore over the reviews first, and at this price, as much info as possible helps. :)Here goes... I'm 5'7" about 135 lbs. with a long torso and a thick waist. I literally have no bum, thanks to a recent surgery, so I pretty much live in leggings with long shirts. I used to live in jeans (Calvin Klein-always fit perfect) and now the material just hangs there. Bummer! Anyway, a friend told me to try NYDJ as everyone she knows loves them. I decided on the Marilyn, because I like a straight leg. I chose the Lombard shade, because I like a medium shade of blue that has a grayish, acid-washed tint. This shade also has whiskering. I have to say, I LOVE this shade! I ordered a size 8 after reading the company's advice and most of the reviews. They are right. DEFINITELY go down a size from your normal one. I usually wear an 8 or 10. I thought about going down to a 6, and if I wanted them tight and form-fitting, I probably could have, but I like my clothes loose-fitting. That being said, the 8 was a little more loose than I like. I almost needed a belt, which with my thick waist, I almost never do. The fabric is a thicker, heavier jean material than I like. They also are kind of stiff. They probably would get softer with washing and wear. I don't think they would shrink, even putting them in the dryer, due to the stretch of the material. The length was just a tad long, probably a 32", but I was barefoot. They probably would be fine with a small heel. I have to admit I really liked them. They checked off all the boxes.EXCEPT... remember my lack of bum to fill it out. I SO wanted them to work. But realistically, at that price, I just couldn't keep them. I'm probably stuck with leggings and long shirts for the rest of my life.SO... if you can get past the price, I think most women would love these. The fit is flattering to most figures. They're casual, yet you could easily add a nice blouse and heels or boots, to dress them up. Don't forget these are straight-leg, not skinny or bootcut. There are a lot of shades/washes to choose from. AND DEFINITELY SIZE DOWN!I hope this review can help you make up your mind. Cheers!

Perfect fit - for me anyway!!
They are a true 32 inch inseam. Perfect for me but more petite women should know that. They fit like a dream!! I love the way they look!

Inconsistent sizing between colors
I like this style of NYDJ jean, but the sizing is inconsistent between colors. The Marcel color fits fine, as expected, but the Cooper is smaller in the waist and the length is just slightly longer than the Marcel. Not sure is I will keep the Cooper color. It's too bad that the sizing is so different. Makes it difficult to order correctly. That's why I gave it only 4 stars. I like the colors of both, and yes they do run a bit long. I'm about 5'4" and about 155 lbs. I do have a bit of a "Mom" stomach for reference. I don't find the size 10 fits too tight in the seat or thighs. The waist on the Cooper is tight. They are both a bit long on me, but I will either wear heels with them or have one of them hemmed if I decide to keep the Cooper color.

Size
Order at least 1-2 sizes smaller. I had to return 2. Love the material and quality.

Running Quite Small.
I have been wearing the Marilyn Staight black jeans for years. I have size 4, 6 & 8 and have taken the size 8's in on my sewing machine. I was excited to order a new pair so I got a size 8. They fit. But are much smaller and the rise seems shorter. I am 5'10" 145lbs. So I ordered a size 10 and these are also quite snug! Sadly, I'm returning the size 8's and tempted to try a size 12!! It seems like the manufacturer has changed the sizing.

Watch the prices and grab them
I bought two pairs on deep Black Friday sale, which made them about the same price I would pay locally for jeans. I love them! They've supplanted my GV Amanda jeans as my new favorites. Like the Amanda I take these in a 12 rather than my usual 14, and they're more comfortable at that size than the Amandas. The fabric is stretchy and smooth (but thicker than jeggings) and the waist doesnt cut at all. Amandas are a slightly firmer weave fabric with a little less stretch and can cut a little at the waist while sitting, as jeans normally can. These are a little bit long for me (but they'll hem easily) while the Amandas are the perfect length. Both brands have a supporting second layer below the waist that doesn't actually hold anything in but keeps the fabric there from stretching too much over any bulges. What I appreciate most about these is how sleek they look and how comfortable they are to wear. New favorites that I'll probably end up buying in every color as they go on sale, but definitely worth the price.
