Perfect for night writers!
Handy ones. I diary at night in the dark and this is perfect illumination. Also works without light.

Great solution when you need to write something in a dark environment
I've been working on a dream log, and one of the challenges I've faced is what to do when I wake up and want to record a dream. If I turn on a lamp, I'll wake up my partner and also myself. And I really don't want to get out of bed and go to another room to put something down in my journal. I've recommended this to some of my fellow dream journalers who loved the idea of a lighted pen. This pen is the solution to that dilemma. With a simple click, a light near the ball-point tip is emitted, and once the pen is close to paper, it illuminates the page well enough to write without a lot of light being added away from the page. If I had one wish, it would be a tiny one - that the "click" was not quite as loud. The pen also works without the light, so if you are in and out of a dark environment you don't need to carry two different pens or use up the battery for the light when it's not needed.

Good Replacement Pen For my Aluminum Covered 4 x 6 notebook
The pen that originally came with my 4" x 6" Aluminum Covered notebook had failed; the metal clip on the side of the pen had broken off and the led light no longer worked. The pen itself is designed to hold the notebook closed, and these pens matched the original perfectly! Nice also, to have a red led light option! The pen itself doesn't hold both colors at once, and you can't change the light on the pen, you have to buy the pen, specify which color led you would like it to have, red or white. Both are bright enough to see what you're writing without any other lighting. After a month of use, the pens have held up well.

Get the red ones!
These are great for writing down dreams or thoughts in the middle of the night without having to turn on a light. For me I don't want to wake my wife up but it's also easier to fall back to sleep if you don't blast your eyes with bright lamplight. Red light is the best for not losing your "night eyes." Once your eyes are adjusted to dark, you can use a low red light to do things without then being blinded once you turn the light out again so I was glad that these come in red. I agree with a lot of comments here that these are actually a little too bright if what you want to do is just light up the page right under the pen. I imagine the white or blue would be even worse in this regard. What I do is wrap a bit of tape around the tip, leaving just the top of it open so there isn't any side glare in my eyes and it just lights up part of the page enough to write. Having done that, this is by far, the best thing I've ever had for these quick middle of the night writing sessions. I did have trouble with one of the two pens as it would fade intermittently and then light back up. The company was immediately responsive and set me up with a solution and a replacement. Really impressive customer service for such a low price item.

Light Pen
Light Pen is a nice design, but I prefer a bolder writing pen and darker ink. Other than that, it is a very nice pen.

Very bright
These are great pens, but they are very bright. I got them so I could not down ideas I had at night without having to turn on my lights and disrupt my sleep, but they are quite bright. I suppose that is a good thing since they will help you write in the dark. So far I'm pretty happy with them, though I don't use them very much since I don't actually need to write in the dark very often. They have a nice weight and a smooth metal exterior which makes it feel like a good quality pen. I think it's a good value, they are attractive pens, and they are very simple and easy to use when you need to write in the dark!

Works great, way too bright!
Pen works great, but WOW, these are bright. Too bright to use in the dark like they are intended. I found that painting the tip black with a sharpie was more than enough to lower the brightness to a functional level. I got the white color LED, which is probably the brightest one there, but still was a good purchase and can even be used as a flashlight in the dark! (Like I said, very bright)

Great buy, good price. One pen with a red light and one with white - they work well.

The pen lights up where you want to see but the light is quiet bright at the pen point and it's also the area you want to look at when writing. If the pen could have a light shield keeping the light pointing down, that would be an improvement. Given that there is nothing on the marked (that I can find), this is a very good way of being able to write in the dark and see what you are writing.

I'm a song-writer, and I get most of my inspirations at night. If I don't write my ideas down straight away, they're forgotten by morning. And if I turn on a light to write them down, it wakes my wife. So for years I've bought pens that light up at the tip. But with the first few makes that I tried, the battery and ink were not replaceable, and when either ran out the pen became useless for its intended purpose. So I was very glad to find this Glowseen make where the battery pack and ink cartridge are both replaceable. You get two pens in a pack – one with red light, one with white light. It's well made and well designed, with just the right level of light to light up the paper near the point of the pen. The red one especially does not wake my wife (although the click occasionally does). They write easily and smoothly too. So I was very happy for the first 6 months – until I changed the batteries. When reassembled, neither pen would light up. I dismantled and reassembled them, and the red one started working again. The white one did not, so I emailed the Support address given on the instruction leaflet. I got a reply within a few hours, promising to send me a replacement. It arrived a few days later - and with extra pens as an apology! Of the replacements, one white one did not light up, until I dismantled it, and reassembled it. Then it worked fine. There must be some subtle aspect of the assembly such that, occasionally, electrical contact is not made. The instruction sheet seems clear, although it's in tiny print and the English is not perfect. Perhaps the company could print the instructions in larger print, and/or put a video on the Web showing how to reassemble the pen after changing the battery pack. My reply from Support was signed by “Julia”. I'm in the UK. I notice all the other reviews of this product are from the US, and one of those says he too got a reply from “Julia”. So I get the impression of a small company that really cares about customer relations. And it is a well-made product, perfectly designed for its purpose.

Worth the money, comfortable in the hand not too heavy plus the ability to write in these darker nights had no problems as yet but maybe how long the batteries last but will find that out later all in all good purchase. Thank you.
