Capehart Suitcase Style 3-speed Stereo Turntable with Built-in Speakers (Blue)

O.K. I did not want to get too excited about this baby until I tried it out for a few days. I must say that after playing it for 3 days, I feel that this is very well worth the dough. I was rather skeptical due to the low price, as well as some rather negative reviews, so I tried a number of albums and 45's in both the old weight as well as the new 180 gm. audiophile L.P. vinyl. To my delight, they all sounded at least very good to excellent! Of course, as any true vinyl collector knows, the sound rings much better when the vinyl is taken directly from the master tapes. My 180 Gram vinyl even sounds better on this little player. I was initially disappointed when I didn't notice the 45 rpm adapter that comes with the player. In addition, the player comes with a white protective stylus to prevent it from damaging the stylus when it is being moved. I have found the 45's to play well, also. So essentially, as I stated earlier, I am very pleased with this player, especially in view of the low price. Sure, it could have used some higher volume but it is rather small so that would be very difficult to do without distortion. I have played both 45's and 33 and 1/3 vinyl from my 60's and 70's collection, as well as some high quality colored vinyl, and they all sound very good. I also tried using my headphones, and the sound quality remains very high. This is perfect for anybody who does not have a large space to play their vinyl in, as well as for any students going away to college. Old, as well as newly pressed high quality vinyl plays very well on this little player. If I notice a decrease in quality as I use the player more frequently, I will update my review. For now, however, I couldn't be more pleased. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! SMRZ!

This is a piece of garbage! DO NOT PURCHASE. Right out of the box it skips with brand new records. We tried four different records and it skips non-stop. The turn table is warped causing the needle to bounce. It is very poor workmanship. If Capehart can't build a record player that works for $60, they should build a quality product and charge more. Huge Christmas morning disappointment.

I initially bought this product for my girlfriend. Upon purchase we were thrilled at the overall design and look of the turntable but after a few hours of using it we noticed that it began to skip horribly (was not the vinyls, we tested many) and determined that the most likely of reasons for this was due to the stylus not being heavy enough. We returned the product a purchased from a different seller.

Works okay, but skips parts of the record a lot. Not the best sound, but good for the price.

Perfect starter record player for a teenager! Works well, good sound, and compact in size. Not for the serious user, but my son loves it!

Nice unit, needs external speakers.
