These pre-filter socks for my sump tank are great but man they are expensive. Paying close to $50 for 6 socks is ludicrous but I needed them to collect any waste that gets in my sump. My local LFS doesn't even use filter socks in his tanks and the are pristine so I may try and go without and see what happens.

First and Foremost, these socks are going to be the best bang for your buck. Fantastic Product and here’s why: 1) Extremely durable. This sock is going to last you awhile if you properly clean and wash socks. Remember to rinse before use. 2) Premium Quality. These Felt filter socks filter out all solids. I’m running only one sock on a 90 gal and the sock handles it with no problem. Overall, these are nice and thick. 3) Performance. Like any sock, these polish water. But do so without becoming easily clogged. Compared to other socks there is a noticeable difference. Buy these socks and see the difference in water quality when you switch to this brand. 4) Customer Service. Aquatic Experts are quick to respond and back their product. If you are on the fence choosing between products, just get these. This product will go beyond your expectations and will leave you satisfied just as I was. These socks are well made and do a fantastic job of keeping your aquarium super clear. They are well made and now that I have washed them a couple of times, hold up well. I just turn them inside out and throw them in the washing machine and have had no problems with them.

Picked these up as the sock that came with my sump was getting dirty after only 2 days. These are able to go almost an entire week before I need to change them. They're a bit smaller than the one I originally had, but I think the 10" size works better. No cons here.

The problem with about half of these filters is the plastic ring on top of the filter does not fit into the hole in the sump where the filter goes, the ring is too large....

Well these have turned out to be completely useless and a waste of my money. Ran them through the washer when I got them, before using them, and out of 8, I have 2 that the seams didn't come apart on. Guess I'll have to order the "cheap" ones I order prior to these again, that I have been using and washing in the same washer for more than 6 months...save your money...buy a different brand

Great value.Have held up well.I have 10 I place in washing machine every few weeks.No issues with stitching like I have had with others.Outer plastic ring a little to large to fit properly in my icecap sump.Needed to trim.

Ordered two 4" for my JBJ 65. While they do fit, I did notice that one sock is 1.5" longer that the other. While this doesn't matter much in the long run, it does make you think they don't check the items too well before shipping. I will be buying them in the future for my tank though.
