Absolutely great for note taking in lecture classes. The playback using the Bluetooth on the phone has not dropped once. Audio is crisp and clear... ambient noise is minimal.

I absolutely love this product other than the battery life being horrible. I read that it would last about 10 days but it actually only lasts 3-4. I am in school and it keeps being dead when I go to connect so I lose using it for an entire days of classes.

Great investment for taking notes. The battery power doesn’t last that long.

I bought this for a friend who is taking a course that has a lot of field work. (As in outside, moving a lot.) He was reticent to use a tablet, but wanted to be able to record digital notes with audio synced to handwriting for later review. He swears that this pen has been a life saver.

I love this pen and all of the possibilities you have with it. It captures your writing and drawing quite well, and even stores it if you are not connected to your paired device while you are using it. It uploads the data to your device as soon as they are paired again. My favorite part of the pen is that the ink cartridges are standard D1 ink. The extra cartridge that they include is Zebra brand, and if you want to get more of those, they are here on Amazon for relatively cheap. [ https://amzn.to/2ViQVoa for a 10 pack the exact type of ink that is included with the pen] There are many cheaper options as well, but Zebra brand is what comes with the pen. D1 ink cartridges are common enough that you can get them at almost any store that sells pens and office supplies. There are so many paper options out there to use with this as well. There are notebooks, sticky notes, journals, you name it. Seriously, just put "livescribe paper" in an Amazon product search and the possibilities that come up are amazing. This is a great device for pairing written notes and drawings with captured audio. I wish that I had one of these back in my college days. About the audio- the pen itself does not do the sound capturing etc, your paired device does that. So if you are using this for taking class notes and want to record bits of the lecture, make sure to have your paired device in a good spot for capturing audio. Perhaps your professor would let you have your paired device (in silent mode of course) up at the desk/table/podium screen down while class is in session in order to get the best possible sound capture. The pen comes with two single subject notebooks, which should be enough to keep you busy for a while. The paper in the notebooks is heavy and sturdy. The notebooks/paper that you need to keep using the pen are the most expensive consumable cost of the pen, but if you buy them in multiple packs it is not as expensive. One notebook an Amazon is about $13 at the time of my review, but a four pack is $25. In my opinion, for my personal uses this is an acceptable cost. There are even unlined options available. With your notebooks digitized, sharing notes is so much easier. You can share the whole notebook, or just select pages. In order to be able to use the pen, you will need to download the free Livescribe+ app on a mobile device. I could not pair the pen to my ipad mini (it is older, from 2016 or 2017) and I paired it to my Samsung Galaxy phone without issue. Be aware that the Livescribe app will be running constantly in the background. It does not take much battery, but still worth mentioning for when you decide what you want to pair the pen to.

Was tested by Amazon and repackaged and sent to me.... would not take charge, would not turn on or sink.... I will not ever buy an electronic device from Amazon that is repackaged again... Though it would be great for posting notes online for the classroom, but not worth the hastle

Not user friendly

I got this for my daughter to draw with. We go through a lot of paper. It works fine, but the battery needs charging more often then you would think. It’s a little hard for her to keep track of it.

purtroppo, dopo una ventina di pagine di ottimo lavoro, la Aegir ha smesso di sincronizzarsi con l'app sul mio smartphone android e lo stesso col mio laptop windows via bluetooth (via cavo usb, funziona); provata la sincronizzazione bluetooth con dispositivo iOS, funziona; contattato il sevizio assistenza, ha risposto tempestivamente, ma le soluzioni indicate non hanno risolto il problema, quindi non si capisce se la smartpen è guasta o "difettosamente compatibile; farò un ultimo tentativo e se fallisce, se posso, la restituirò

Hola: El año pasado me compré uno y genial, va perfecto. Sin embargo, para Reyes le compré uno a un familiar y llegó que no funcionaba. Pedí devolución y el que me llegó lo mismo. Era para un regalo pero es un bolígrafo delicado, así que cualquier golpe lo puede dañar. Voy a pedirlo una tercera vez, espero que esta vez me llegue bien porque mi familiar sigue esperando poder utilizarlo...Eso sí la devolución y todo, como siempre, muy bien.

Il a très bien fonctionné pendant la durée de la première mine ! Avec la seconde mine il a fonctionné pendant une dizaine de pages... Depuis la led clignote en rouge ! J'ai fouillé le net pour trouver une solution de dépannage... rien qui corrige le problème... Je ne rachèterai pas !

La app funciona bien, el boli es cómodo y el ordenador le reconoce sin problemas. Pero no esperes que transcriba tu letras, ni siguiera reconoce correctamente los numeros. A ver, si escribes como un profesor de primaria quizás...

Quelques tests m'ont permis de comprendre que ce bel objet ne fonctionnait pas merveilleusement. Pour reproduire en numérique vos notes manuscrites cela fonctionne bien. Par contre la reconnaissance de caractères est très aléatoire, et il n'est pas vraiment possible d'exploiter dans un logiciel type word vos notes. D'autres fonctionnalités du stylo ne fonctionnent pas vraiment. J'ai retourné l'appareil après deux jours de test.
