Great bag, just as I expected
I was looking for good school bag for my labor intensive senior year at college, as well as my years in graduate school. Of course, I know Jansport is known for their backpacks, but it was all a matter of finding something large enough, as next semester I'll have days with all four classes, as well as having to bring gym clothes along with me. The main compartment of this bag is huggggeee, and I've managed to fit two textbooks, four notebooks, and my computer in it, with room to spare. The second compartment fits my gym clothes, also with room to spare. I love all the pockets at the front of the bag---great for staying organized. The pocket at the very front is the perfect size to carry my lunch, while I still have plenty of room in the rest for pens, pencils, calculators, my computer charger, my phone, wallet, and I imagine, anything else I'd have to bring in a regular school day. The S-shaped straps on the bag are unlike any bag I've had before... Not uncomfortable, but just take some getting used to. Actually, they're kind of nice because I feel like they give me better support for my bag, and hopefully I'll have less back pain. The only other thing worth mentioning is that on this particular listing, the navy blue is SLIGHTLY bluer in the picture than what shipped (which is fine by me, and what I was hoping for). The actual bag is just very slightly more grey blue rather than just dark blue.

THE most excellent Day Pack!
Thank Heavens I found the exact same BackPack/DayPack as I had before because in my opinion its' the only one to go with!15 years ago I was given this model daypack. After earing it out I got a no-name daypack that immediately showed how awesome this Pack is. It has plenty of pockets and plenty of room for a LOT of stuff. Many conveniences put it at the top of the "Most Functional Packs Ever" list. Web pocket on side for water bottle (I use it for small items I need quick). Interior sub-pockets and dividers in the foremost section. Plenty of space in the 2 large main compartments. Etc. Also, the straps have never chafed or gouged my shoulders even with a lot of weight. And the durability of the fabric is great (tho the new one bought in Sept 2014 seems like it may be made of lighter material than my older ones- we'll see how it holds up. In any case, about as good a back pack, the most sensible ergonomic Daypack ever! Get it!

It is my bag!
I am on my second or third of these, and I use it all the time. They last a while, look good, and are mostly comfortable in a wide range of situations. The straps are comfortable, the back is padded, and it holds a lot more than you would think by looking at it. I take my Jansport to work, on day trips, cycling, on shopping trips, even halfway across the globe! It has become like a good friend who is always there for me when I need a hand. There are only a couple of weaknesses: in heavy rain, things will get wet (but I bet that is true for the great majority of packs), and the bottom is not reinforced, so it stretches out over time and when there is something heavy in it. Actually, for that reason I may try out something else next. But I don't want to end on a down note - this is a very good product.

Great bag
I’ve Had this bag for over three years now. It has always been an excellent bag. It has traveled across the country, even halfway across the world with me. It hasheld up to all of those travels including daily use to work, cycling, and hiking. I’ve taken it to triathlons, single sport events, and the gym. It has plenty of room for all my daily gear in it. The main compartment is nice and roomy, and the secondary compartment is perfect for smaller items. There’s a few pockets in front for smaller things like wallet and keys, and one elastic water bottle holders on the side. I actually use those for items I might need to get to quickly. I have several backpacks. This is the one I always come back to.

Spacy and Comfortable, but Quality Might Not Be the Best.
This is a nice, large backpack that is a pretty good price in comparison to all the low-quality yet expensive backpacks I found in Target, Walmart, etc. It's perfect for a high school student who needs some more pack room for 5 binders and a few spirals/compositions, as well as any books they need to bring for the day. There were a few things that bugged me though: Why only one water bottle pocket? I know that's being nitpicky but my daughter needs to bring two waters each day and she prefers not to drink from the water fountain (she says her schools water tastes funny). She has to put it into one of the bigger pockets, risking leaks onto her papers. Also, the bottom of the bag is only one layer of fabric. When I previously bought a Jansport model, the bottom had some padding to make it more durable. It seems that they removed that, and while the backpack looks pristine now, I am questioning the quality of it after several months of use. I hope I won't have to purchase another backpack so soon because of seam rippings. It's a great price for a pretty nice backpack though, so it is a good buy compared to what I would be getting directly from the store.

Great Backpack!
I purchased this backpack so that I could walk my mile and a half to work (in Helena, Montana) and be able to carry my lunch, my lab jacket (I work at the hospital), magazines to read if it got slow (rarely does) and my name badge and keys. This backpack did all that and more. It has several big pockets, and as you move toward the front, they get smaller, until you have a tiny one just big enough for my keys and name badge - making things easy to find, instead of rummaging through one huge compartment for a small item. It seems well made, and I've had no issues with it so far, and I wear it every day I work (and I've had it for over a month now). I feel that the nylon will be somewhat water resistant when it starts raining, but it shrugs off the snow easily. Overall, a very nice backpack at a good price!

Overall, I'm happy with it.
This bag has been great! I use this as a car/truck bag. It usually, has a set of clothes, first aid kit, flashlight, pens, notepad.and other things you can think of to put in an emergency bag. With room to spare since it has 2 large main compartments and 2 smaller ones up front. Lots of storage. I've also used it as a weekend travel bag. Its been my carry-on when i visit family in California. I've packed 2-4 sets of clothes depending on the weather. The front pockets great for chargers and cords powerbanks and earbuds and glasses. I would put toiletries in a pouch and pack it in one of the main compartments. It's made of a nylon material that does provide some water resistance. So, a few drops from your drink or a light sprinkle of rain, you'll be ok for a short time. Enough to wipe down or get to some place dry. As for durability, it's held up pretty well in the couple years I've had it. As states earlier, it is made of a nylon material. It's been dragged in and out of my cars numerous times. And thrown up in to the airplane bins several times as well. Only one thread has exposed itself at the grab handle. I've had other Jansport packs over the years and they've all been very good. Overall, I'm happy with it and would recommend. Thanks
