The tape just seemed like a whole lot of unnecessary work to me and ...
Dont think this is necessary to buy with GTMAT installation. I bought a roll thinking I would use it but as I installed the sound deadening mat found it much easier to either overlap the seams or make seams really tight together. The tape just seemed like a whole lot of unnecessary work to me and didn't think I would gain anything by using it. The 80 mil GTMAT is so thick if sound makes it through that what is a little piece of aluminum tape going to stop?

Didn't even need it. Your money is better spent on a heat gun so that the stuff sticks really will, then you don't need this tape.
