extremely disappointed in the manufacturer and amazon
The item runs backwards and I called an electrician and was told it could not be reversed. It blows air into the attic instead of sucking it out. I tried to contact the manufacturer and there is no way, no number, nothing to be able to contact this company. They talk about a guarantee and who to call about it and there is no way to get hold of a person or anything or anybody about my problem. I am extremely disappointed in my purchase and very disappointed that amazon is connected with this company. I have had good luck with amazon and my wife makes many purchases with amazon, but I will be much more careful next time. Amazon need to check this company's credibility before doing any more business for them.

Try one out.
The unit is okay but just has an inexpensive feel to it. The documentation could have been a lot better. I was easy to install and seems to be working just fine. I got it to help relieve my attic which had gable and ridge vent but was still hot. It has met my expectations for that.

Dead Quite and they work
We live in Hawaii and have a corrugated metal roof with no insulation. We do have attic vents but when we have really high solar radiance days, the heat from the roof builds up in the attic and radiates back down into the house. We do have Mini-Split A/C but the heat from the attic really makes the A/C work hard especially in the bedrooms. We bought one of the Rand Attic fans and had it installed above the 2 bedrooms that were the problem areas in the house - roughly 2100 Cu Ft. The fan was installed by 3PM and by 8PM we had a 4-5 degree difference from the previous day which actually had less solar radiance. The surprising part was that the fan is dead quiet.I was peasantly surprised that the fan housing has a screen to keep out bugs, gekos and birds. In addition, the motors are easily replaced in the event of failure and the 40 watt solar panel had the fan turning at what appeared to be max speed well into late afternoon early evening. The following day was overcast and the fan was still running at full clip. The attic gets 10-15 degrees hotter than the ambient temperature on high solar radiance days because of the metal roof and this fan seems to help push that hot air out quite well. I certainly would recommend these fans to anyone with an attic heat problem. Rand Solar Powered Attic Fan-40 Watt-w Roof Top Ventilator with Thermostat

Motor already blown...
Motor dead. Getting into attic to diagnose and remove engine was a HOT nightmare (I'm in Texas). I confirmed with mucho difficulty that indeed I had 13.46V coming off the panel leads. It is a very tiny motor housing and probably really not apt for this kind of work intensity etc. Have just contacted support and awaiting response, but seriously, it was literally installed about 3 weeks ago, and what I just went thru to get to the motor housing is indescribable. You can NOT service this unit from the top/outside, and thus a big reason for my low rating here.

Solar attic Fan
Arrived on time... installation was easy after watching YouTube. I would highly recommend, if you want to lower the temperature of the upper floors of your house.

Solar panel dead after 1 year
It took only 1 year for the solar panel to stop working and it’s not worth it to fix it , as fixing will cost more than nice new unit from the Home DepotSo if you prefer to replace attic ventilator every yearThen this unit is for you
