One sees the boredom behind all the glamor, + the indifference to nudity by both sexes + endless tryouts of photo ideas that never lack breathless inspiration, even if these aren't tame enough enough to be salable and to make it into glossy magazines.These photos are more exciting (in an always formal + non-porno way) than the ones that pass selection processes & end up in the world's premier fashion magazines. The paper used and the photographic quality of all prints in the book are of he very highest quality, sparing no expense. There's an English commentary laying out the stresses & strains of being with the world's most beautiful models almost around the clock . It's worlds away from the world we're used to. A great gift and a timeless treasure. Of course, you have to be fascinated by all aspects of the fashion industry to begin with, even if you think it's silly and grotesque. You have to be IMBUED AND SATURATED WITH FASHION in all its dimensions to savor this wit, self- mockery & sending up of the industry with a knowing wink.

An interesting behind the scenes book of Helmut Newton in action with his camera. Its not really what you expect, but if you can afford it, purchase it and read it, don't let it gather dust

Classic pictures, a few really great but repeated motives can be a little boring. Really nice edition so its good for a gift.
