Worked well for what we needed it for.
First I must preface this with the basic understanding that we are only using this filter for a DIY home based syrup making setup. That said we have used this filter for a season. We found this filter works great for a pre-filter. We tried to use this to filter syrup after it was completed, but it retains too much product. We have been using this filter as a pre-filter to filter the sap that has been boiled down to the point before we finish the sap. Cleaning is a bit of a challenge because it is soo stiff it requires a bit of finagling to get it clean. I do recommend this filter because it does filter very well and removed a lot of stuff we didn't even see in our sap.

It did a good job removing the sugar sand
I made a little over 5 gallons of maple syrup using this filter. It did a good job removing the sugar sand. Be sure to have the filter soaked with hot water and have the maple syrup boiling as the flow rate is super slow when the syrup is not really hot.

Filters, but not well.
Bought this for filtering maple syrup hoping to achieve good clarity before bottling. I used this filter paired with 4 pre filters, soaked the filter in how water filtered the syrup. The syrup went through this filter quickly but did not come out clear. I attempted rinsing the filter and attempting to filter 3 more times increasing the amount of pre-filters withiut ever seeing improved clarity or reduction of niter.I purchased an orlon filter and pre filters form a maple syrup supply store afterwards and the results were much better giving me a clear syrup. In the picture the left bottle is filtered with a different brand orlon filter, the right is filtered with this one. These are we're two different batches so color is different but you can see the cloudiness on the right!I give it 2 stars because it did filter the syrup and would be acceptable if you intended only on using the syrup for yourself and didn't mind some niter/cloudiness. But really the price is the same when buying from a reputable maple supply store! Good luck!

Too big and misleading
this works, but it is huge and amazon pairs it with the FF-10 fryer stand- making it seem like they fit together- they do NOT. This is so large that it really is not effective unless you are straining maple syrup over a huge barrel, it even touches the bottom of a bucket- go smaller and don't let amazon tell you what it fits.

Great for the home producer
Great for the home producer. I used it for this my first year ever making syrup and I only made a gallon or so. I had been using muslin to filter at the end but it left a lot of so-called sugar sand when the finished product cooled. This cut that down to almost nil and gave me that sought after clear and beautiful golden nectar I'd been looking for. It is a hassle to clean and it wastes a lot of the syrup that's held in the felt after filtering. Kind of a big deal if you're not making much. But if you're as cheap as I am you can squeeze out the leftovers with a little elbow grease and some sticky hand after that fact.

Very effective at eliminating sugar sand!
We have been struggling to eliminate the sugar sand from our manitoba maple syrup. We have never had a problem with our Walnut syrup, but the manitoba has an insane amount. after multiple filterings, we were still getting way too much accumulation settling out. This filter works amazingly well! After only one filtering, it removed about 75% of the sugar sand! I am confident that a second filtering will reduce it to an acceptable level. The syrup flowed through this filter much quicker than with the other methods we had tried. I will be ordering another!

Keep the Syrup Hot!
This orlon filter worked great on my maple syrup. I used two pre-filters (fine mesh coffee filters) before the orlon and that seemed to keep the coarser sugar sands from plugging off the incredibly fine orlon. It's slow filtering, but gets the job done in the end. Make sure you keep the syrup very hot or it will not flow through the filter. The Felt Store did a great job with the construction of the cone filter and I believe it will last a long time. The stitching was world class. This price was great as well.

Homesteading your own, a must have.
I ordered this filter after using cheese cloth and other methods of making my syrup clear and free of debris. I didn't want to spend any money on a product that won't help me be self sufficient. So I bought it, and I was amazed by it with my first small 2 quart batch. So I washed it in the washer, bad idea, it held onto some soap and my next batch tasted soapy. So I suggest always wash this by hand, and don't use soap every time. Be sure to clean it out very good as it will hold old debris if not cleaned well. It does hold onto a cup or more of syrup, I dip it back into the next batch of syrup gently to transfer some of the old syrup sugar back into the new batch. DO NOT REVERSE it or turn it inside out to do this. Gently dip it in... Glad I made this purchase, it has helped me make a great end product. Modern Pioneer

Worked excellent for filtering maple syrup. Wet the filter with steam from evaporater prior to each use. Quick shipping. Easy to rinse out with hot water.

Nice
Works well. Caught all the fine bits if sludge and ash and stuff from my wood fired home made boiler. Works nice and is huge so if you are straining buckets into other buckets it holds alot and makes it easy

Five Stars
Does the job perfectly. It is a little big but then the one quart would be a little small.
