The highly-regarded Light Craft Workshop ND500 Neutral Density Filter provides 9 stops of real light blocking power. It is manufactured with a multi-coated, highly resistant finish, which helps to provide better image resolution and anti-flare performance. Not just a piece of glass, the ND500 is covered with 7 overlying vacuum multi-coated layers that effectively reduce flare and reflection at the back of the filter. At the front, a High resistance coating (H.R.C.) enhances anti-scratch ability and resists spray and water. The ND500 MC allows you to reduce shutter speeds from 1/500 sec to 1 sec, which is a real 9 stops reduction of light. This is the first and only ND500 filter in the world, providing a true and precise 9 stops of light reduction (ND400 is actually 8 2/3 stop) The ND500 is built with a slim filter structure that helps to avoid vignetting up to a 16mm focal length (135mm format) There is also a front filter thread to allow an extra filter or lens cap to be attached. Common Uses: *Blurring water *Reducing depth of field in bright light *Controlling shutter speed for dslr video *Adding motion blur to moving subjects *Extended time exposures A perfect filter for situations where you need to reduce light, and are looking for an extremely high-quality, single-lens filter.

Not useful
It is rarely usable. You don't encounter the situation with that many stops to correct. Image quality wise, My Tiffen ND filter does better job.
