I have used an 18" electric for years not realizing how hard it was making a simple job. This BLACK+DECKER 22" Electric Hedge Trimmer has changed everything and makes this work so much easier. This Trimmer cuts like a dream does not weigh anymore than my old 18" and took trimming time from 2-3 hours down to 1-1/2 hours. The comfort and balance are good, the safety features are very good. Great product Do not hesitate to buy if an electric trimmer is what you are looking for.

Works better than I expected. I also have a Makita at my 1st home. Both work. This Black & Decker is sharp, and the battery is surprisingly long-lasting.

At 22" this is a fairly long blade hedge trimmer. I am used to the B&D shorter 18", much lighter trimmer. At 73 years old I cannot really recommend this unit for most seniors as it will require rest breaks for many larger jobs. This is a better, stronger unit for younger stronger robust folks. Having said that, I highly recommend both units as reliable and easy to use trimmers. I give the smaller 18" unit 5 stars and 4 stars for heavier 22" unit. Both are great choices. Go for it. Works great and was just what I needed to trim my shrubs. If you aren’t worried about keeping an extension cord attached this is the trimmer for you!

Had gotten the Black and Decker 22 inch hedge trimmers because of the durability of the name. Its light weight and has plenty of power. Easy to use and happy with this purchase. Would recommend.

I just got this hedge trimmer and put it to a huge workout for a good couple hours nonstop, trimming the shrubs all over my yard including a small tree, thick hollies, and some hedges that are about 12 feet tall. I held this tough little workhorse up high over my head and could reach quite a way. I got the 22” version because I am a small grandma and I didn’t want it to be too heavy, but I also need help to lengthen my reach. I am happy with the 22” model. THEN, after I finished the whole lawn, I ventured out to the wooded area behind our yard and used this little workhorse as a brush mower! I bent down to whack off vines, small trees, poison ivy—-to cut back the overgrowth to keep it from creeping into the yard. This is sharp, easy to handle and control down low, up over my head, etc. Aside from it being sharp, lightweight, and easy to handle, my favorite part about this hedge trimmer is the cord-holder. On my old model, I am, constantly having to stop and plug it back in because the cord pulls out of the trimmer easily. Not so on this model with the cord-holder where you loop the cord around. For extra security, I first wrapped the cord through the handle a couple of times, and THEN looped it through the cord holder and it did not come out even once. This corded trimmer kept going at full power for far longer than a rechargeable battery version would have operated. I was glad to get all my spring trimming done in one afternoon. I did read some reviews complaining that you have to hold the safety button down the hole time—I did not find that to be difficult. I did get carried away once, and nicked the electrical cord a bit. I have to be careful in the future to keep the cord out of my way. Great little hedge trimmer! I am very happy with it.
