This toaster has been a great addition to our kitchen. The extra-wide slots easily fit bagels and thick slices of bread, and the shade selector lets everyone get their toast just the way they like it. I really appreciate the separate controls for each side, which makes it easy to toast different items at once.The crumb trays are easy to clean, and the extra lift feature is helpful for safely grabbing smaller pieces. It works quickly and consistently, and the sleek design looks great on the counter. I am so happy with this purchase that I plan to buy another one for our guest space.

Unit arrived promptly, well packaged and in new condition. It has several features we had to read the instructions on to understand, but are simple to execute. One is the terminator button in the center of the toast darkness control which pops up the toast instantly, the other is the frozen button for frozen items. It's a nice unit, takes bagels well, toasts uniformly, and if it lasts is a nice machine.

I’ve owned this toaster for over 8 years now. I really don’t have much negative to say about it. The controls are very simple. It’s not complicated to use and if you ask me, 8 years of usage and only one side of the toaster just gave out is pretty amazing to me, especially since it’s a cost effective toaster. I liked this toaster so much that I just replaced the original one with the same model.I really like the fact that it’s a simple unit. Four slots for bread, two handles to press down, two knobs to adjust how toasted you want your bread and each knob has a button to press to pop your toast out. That’s it.I’ve always had the knobs set to either “3” or “4”. For me, it’s the happy medium of a slight crisp to the outside of the bread, but still soft on the inside. The heat level is not bad at all. You can hold your hand above the slots and be fine, which goes hand in hand with the toasting ability. The toasting takes roughly 2 minutes at the 3 or 4 setting which to me is very reasonable. Anything that’s toasts too quickly comes with some type of downfall.Cleaning it is simple. It’s got two “trays” under the toast slots that can be pulled from the bottom that the crumbs and seeds from your bread fall to that can be dropped into the trash or where ever you dump it. The outside of the toaster is slick so a dish rag or damp sponge can easily glide over it to clean.Other than that, the only improvements I could see being made or potentially made is to make the bread slots a little wider to allow say, Texas toast! I’m not overly picky when it comes to colors but for the average person looking to compliment their kitchen, it wouldn’t hurt to have a few more colors.

I bought this same B&D model 20 years ago, is the exact same! Doesn't have Bluetooth, WiFI or a fancy display, just makes toast!

Received today. Came new in box. I just moved so I needed a new toaster & since everything else in my kitchen is black & stainless steel this was one of the main reasons I went with this model. This brand has usually for the most part been reliable. I have no issues with any of the problems others are stating. I used it within a few hours of receiving, it was packaged well so nothing would get broken during transit. I toasted a bagel & I have to say that it was really one of the best toasted bagels I have had. It was very lightly toasted on outside & done to perfection inside. This was on setting 4 as they recommend with first use. To use the bagel feature, (which I love & many toasters do NOT have this choice and are not wide enough), you FIRST push the lever down with bagel in toaster of course & then push the bagel button on the front of toaster-VIOLA!! 👍🏻. The crumb tray is secure & if used properly should stay that way. As for the cord as someone else posted, if you lift up the bottom you can wrap the cord around the prongs so you can have it come out wherever you would like. It sits flat with no problem. I spent much more on my last toaster and I didn't get as high quality results. It is not too flimsy, it is as sturdy as a toaster should be. One of my favorite things is the nice wide openings! I am a bagel eater, most toasters, even though they say extra wide, are not always wide enough for FRESH bagels (the little frozen ones, sure, but not the fresh ones). This toaster was definitely wide enough with some space for the bagel to loosely fit in, not smashed in! Love the colors, matches perfectly in my kitchen. The toaster looks nice and does toast the bread. But there are 3 key issues...1st - The slots are wide enough, but they aren't deep enough. The extra lift is useless as a bagel, or a frozen waffle doesn't pass the coils when you press it down. The top 1/4 of the bagel, bread, or waffle doesn't get toasted at all.2nd - The crumb "drawer" is more trouble than it is worth, it's not a drawer it is flap. The cleanest way to get to the crumbs involves turning the toaster upside down, sending the crumbs all over the counter. You have to do it over the sink to avoid a huge mess.3rd - I've only used it a couple times but there is a pretty pungent factory odor when toasting, that hopefully will dissipate over time but who knows.Overall, it is an average toaster for average bread but not much else.

Good value toaster, browns evenly, does take awhile and makes a lot of noise when it pops but does a good job. Nice to have the 4 slots, each set of two has it's own controls! Hope it lasts.
