having trouble replacing the pipes. it will not come out and using lots of force by pushing it out viewing end. what am I doing wrong?

Return if you can. Mine did not work in dark, really only useful purpose. I bought a Meprolite. Is it actually clearing the viewing end to slide out? I found it to be cheaply made. I don't have one right next.
