The Aputure Light Dome Mini II is a 35-inch deep octagonal softbox designed for Bowens mount lights like the Aputure 120D series. Easy to Setup, Good Build Quality
Very easy to assemble and good build quality on the materials. This is important for both time and longevity. I have personally seen a cheap grid disintegrate into dust after a few years. When setting up a light modifier, simpler the better- less time wasted. Opening this is just a matter of clicking the rods into their extended position. A lever type switch on the back releases each rod to collapse and store. Velcro attaches the inner reflector at 4 points with larger sized strips than necessary at the ends to accommodate for eventual stretching of the elastic/fabric. Good foresight.Diffuser attaches easily with Velcro. Same with grid.Some ideas for use: Areas too small for larger soft-boxes, smaller products, accent/hair light.

Great Modifier to Compliment the Full Size Light Dome II
Great compact light dome that works well in confined spaces or when a large soft box isn't needed. Pairs great with the 300d II or 120d II, and I'm sure it works great with other bowens mount devices. Seems to be well made, and should handle the wear and tear of being used in studios or in the field.

Very good invesment
This soft box improved my videos a lot. It is easy to use and a very good size. I would recommend it to anyone that needs a good diffuser for a small room.

Does the job nicely, not as easy to assemble though, maybe I'm just inexperienced?
Did the job nicely for a home production with the Aputure 300X. Gave really soft lights, and was especially nice with the 300X's fire preset on. First time putting it on was a bit of a fumble, and it doesn't look as easy as it does in the promotional videos, so we'll see - maybe we just need more practice? For now, it's staying open in our storage room so we don't have to put it up again for next time.

Use this with my 120d for my small home office. Fits the small space well. Really great quality and easy to setup and take down.

good product...good for small spaces
I like that the size is great for small spaces. I did end up buying a larger one for a softer image and for larger images.

Works with neewer light!
A little tedious to set up/break down but I’ve been very impressed with the quality. Even better, I was able to save on the LED as this works with the neewer alternative. Great buy!
