Great Value for the cost
I have a 1974 vw Super Beetle. This was almost an exact swap for the Bosh 8n alternator that was installed over 20 years ago. It was a little tricky manuvering the shims in the right order to get it not to rub against the shroud, but once that was done it was great. Also a little trouble with the Woodruff key but again its in now. Seems to produce more than enough power while driving to keep the lights nice and Bright and the Leds inside the bug lit, I added a aftermarket stereo and it works great, enough power i mean the old one would dim the lights if i have the stereo on, this one does not.

sizing/spacing/shaft size issue
This alternator is not the same as what is pictured. The spacer that keeps the pulley from rubbing against the alternator is either too thin, or the alternator shaft is too long, or both. The metallic spacer pictured sticks out the appropriate amount however the alternator I purchased and received does not.It unfortunately does not fit and I have lost hours trying to counter the problem caused by this faulty piece of machinery.
