Great Product!
Loved this! Perfect for weekend travel or packing for kids/ baby carry on. The zippers work nicely, it can hold a great about and it’s easy to carry. Storage is great as well! I got the large and it’s the size I was looking for, thankfully wasn’t smaller.

Versatile Backpack For Trips And Daily Use
I picked up this MATEIN travel backpack to use as a carry on and it has worked out very well. The 27 liter size is just right for flights. I can fit a couple of days of clothes, toiletries, and my electronics without it feeling oversized. The expandable section is handy when I need a little extra room coming back with souvenirs or gear. It fits in overhead bins and under most seats when not fully expanded, which keeps travel simple. The organization is a big plus. There are enough pockets for a laptop or tablet, chargers, documents, and smaller items so everything has a place instead of getting lost in one big compartment. The padding on the straps and back panel makes it comfortable to carry through airports or around town, and the material feels durable and water resistant enough to handle light rain without worrying about what is inside. I also use it as a daypack for short hikes and casual everyday use. It does not scream “business bag” or “hiking pack” so it works in a lot of situations. If you want a lightweight, flexible backpack that can handle travel, commuting, and weekend outings, this one is a very solid choice.

East of packing and carrying!!!
This backpack is perfect. Plenty of space to hold at least 3 days or more of clothing. Makes a perfect carry-on and will fit under the seat if you have a problem finding space in the overhead. I am very happy with this purchase after ordering others that just didn't do what I needed them to do which is replace a hard sided carry on. Love the back pack straps with the center strap to keep the shoulder straps together. This thing has all the necessary bells and whistles.

Superb overall! Some small "wishlist" items, which would be good to consider for future iterations.
This pack is very high volume but in a very compact form. It fit everything I needed and then some for my carry on. It saved me a ton of space in my checked luggage when I could divert some things to my pack. It brought me peace of mind as well to carry 1 change of clothes and my toiletries on my back instead of in my checked luggage. The style is simple but polished. The quality of the materials is really good. I stuffed it very full of things and the zippers and stitching show no signs of strain. There's a prompt here in the review form to speak about a *charging port" but I don't see one at all. There's also a prompt to talk about a "smell" but I didn't experience any smells/odors at all. The backpack is highly functional and I put it to very good and rigorous use during my trip this month. The price for everything you get out of it is also really excellent! I only wish that the laptop pocket were closest to my back instead of a pocket that is much more accessible to someone who may try to steal things without your noticing. So I ordered myself some TSA approved luggage locks so that I don't have that worry lingering. I also wish it had a water bottle pocket cuz it was unfortunate to have to hold my water bottle the entire time versus tuck it in my pack when I'm not drinking from it.

The best backpack in the world!
The product arrived in excellent condition and better than all my expectations. It is sturdy and very well made. The zippers are heavy duty and run smoothly in all directions. The straps, too are wide, well padded, easy to adjust for individual comfort and very comfortable to wear. The capacity it can take is impressive both for light and short trips as well as longer journeys which normally would require an average size suitcase. It can open fully and flat just like a suitcase making it easy to load in an organized fashion, unlike any other which require pushing things from the top forcing messing up its content on the way in. It is a solid 5 star product.

Perfect weekend or 4 day bag
Got this last minute for a weekend trip to New York sat through mon. Included picture is me walking with it in the subway. Great bag esp for the price. Pros Lots of pockets Internal mesh zippered section Compression straps at 4 corners Malleable for sizers Should fit most sizers even European ones Great for 3 to 4 days maybe 5 Cons Maybe a side pocket for a bottle but would make it not as sleek. Not sure about durability but unless you carry a lot of weight I think it will hold up.

Great deal on a great backpack, but beware of spotty quality control
I travel a lot and once had my checked luggage lost, so I like to be able to pack as much as possible in a carry-on bag to ensure it arrives with me. While a hard-sided rolling bag is nice when traveling long distances in airports, a backpack carry-on makes it easier to navigate when you already have a large rolling suitcase, a backpack is better for stairs, and the flexibility of a backpack makes it easier to fit luggage into the trunk (out of sight) when renting cars (which are generally a lot smaller outside of North America). Overall, I would give the Matein travel backpack 5 stars. It's a step down from, say, a Cotopaxi or Osprey travel backpack, but at less than a quarter of the price (and half the price of an inferior North Face backpack), it's a nice travel bag with lots of features at a very affordable price. I compared several different travel backpacks at different price points. Since capacity is just a number and doesn't necessary correlate to useable space, I used vacuum bags for my clothes and filled each with the same 20 lbs of stuff. The Matein backpack had great useable space and I'd say even better useable pockets than some other, more expensive, backpacks I tried (which had some smaller pockets that could only be used for small items, which I prefer to carry in my "personal item" bag). And the Matein was better than some other travel backpacks in that the shoulder straps could be stowed away, making it easy to carry from the side handle without dragging or tripping over straps. The strap on the back to slide over a rolling suitcase is a nice feature. And what I especially like is that the Matein opens up like a traditional suitcase, so it's easy to see--and get to--your packed items (since they aren't buried at the bottom of a top-loading backpack). I also liked the side straps that can cinch down the pack, reducing its profile for those airlines that have stringent size restrictions. Where is falls short of the much pricier travel backpacks is that it doesn't have a hip belt to distribute the weight. After using an oversized traditional backpack for years, that wasn't a dealbreaker, but it did mean that it was less comfortable on the shoulders (which were supporting all the weight). That said, the Matein has pretty nicely padded shoulder straps and an adjustable chest strap, which make it better than a traditional backpack. Something to consider is that there isn't a pouch for a water bottle (not a dealbreaker for me since I store my water bottle in my "personal item" bag). It's also a more comfortable backpack for those who don't have really broad shoulders (since the straps might be too close together and cut into one's neck). I considered dinging it one star for quality control, which isn't great. I encourage you to check you bag carefully. The first bag they shipped me was missing one of the side straps (see photo). The replacement bag had all the straps, but the placement of these were slightly off for some of them--not a big deal, but evidence of not the greatest quality control. In the end, I decided to keep a much more expensive Sherpani travel backpack because of the hip belt and the more waterproof material for my bigger trips (when I'm hauling more stuff around big international airport hubs). But I'm also definitely keeping the Matein as one to use for shorter trips. I can't speak yet to the durability. Time will tell.

Nice product
It just arrived today as a gift for a relative. I purchased it in lavender. The color is beautiful and the fabric seems durable yet light. I cannot actually speak to the durability because it is a gift and has not been used yet however I looked at the zipper, the interior lining and the embellishments on the outside, including the straps, and they seem fairly durable. It looks like a well made item, especially for the price. The inside is large and has a good amount of depth as depicted in the pictures I attach. It unzips fully to allow access to put items in the bag and it also has an expansion option. I would like to purchase another one as a gift for someone else or even myself. I have a more expensive brand name expandable travel bag just like this one except mine is smaller. I also paid five times as much for the name brand item. This would be very good for carry on or for a road trip.
