The instructions were dismal thus I can't seem to make these timers work and they are noisy to boot. Would NOT recommend to anyone.

I understand the confusion on how this works. The attached instructions are ridiculous.Turn the dial in the direction of the arrow to the correct time. Its not going to be exact like a digital clock, but it should be good +/- 5 minutes.Now here is the tricky part. Pull UP (using a small pin or screwdriver) the notches corresponding to the times you want it to be OFF. Directions say push DOWN for the times you want it to be ON, which is the same thing, BUT it comes with the notches already down!!!Then to activate, push the red side switch DOWN towards from the outlet, otherwise it will always be ON.
