Amazing
I can't say enough about this. It's an amazing saw. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I've had Husqvarna, Craftsman and several other gas saws. This is soooooo much better. I never have to deal with stalls, gas/oil mixtures, it shuts off between cuts, it's quieter.I absolutely love it.I bought extra batteries for longer run times. They charge in about 20 minutes so I can swap around easily if there's power nearby. I've downed and cut up 16" diameter trees, cuts through limbs like butter. Most of the time I run a 14" bar and chain. That's long enough for most of what I do, lighter and easier to wield.I don't know if I'd want to deal with recharging if I was an arborist for a living, away from a power source, but for general home use, this thing is nothing short of life-changing. I used to dread having to get my saw out, wrestle with starting, fueling, maintaining and stabilizing the right mix, etc. I leave this on the back porch and grab it whenever I go out for firewood.Because I don't have to use gas/oil, I can throw it in the cab of the truck any time and not worry about fumes or spillage.Starts and runs every time. It's taken chain saw use from frustrating to fun.My one hesitation is that I haven't used it in the summer yet. I have a little 20v Black and Decker that heats ups and shuts down quickly in anything but the coldest weather. This 80V Greenworks has never shut down on me and I've seen reviews that says it doesn't have overheating issues but I'll test that for myself over the hot southern NC summer.I also bought the Leaf Blower (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CLSDL517) so now I have two chargers. The leaf blower is also great. I'm recommending both to family and friends.

The best birthday present I ever had!
Not only is this chain great, it's very sturdy! Since March 2025 I was able to clear out about 1 acre of thorn bushes & dead fallen trees in our backyard. So easy to use, weighs very little, & cuts fast. The battery life could be better, but it's a good reminder to take a break. I only get about 20-45mins of cuts before it needs to be recharged.

No gas...but that's ok for non-commercial use.
This is a nice chain saw for home use. Battery charges pretty fast (within an hour to 90 minutes roughly). Cutting around 4" softwood (pine), the battery lasted about two hours (of intermittent cutting..i.e. the saw was not running continuously). Chain tensioning is easy to do. It is great that soon as you stop a cut...everything shuts down...so a great safety feature. Used it to cut 12"-18" logs and performed well but less battery time. The only negatives are that constant use will cause the battery to heat up a bit and the battery has to cool down for about 20-30 minutes before it will be able to charge in the charging unit. The best thing to do is to buy a second battery...that would make this a super product (I wish it came with two batteries). All in all....very good saw...really like not having to store gas. You do need chain oil of course...but it uses it very efficiently. After 3 hours of cutting branches (not continuous cuts...a very short time between cuts though)...it did not use all of the chain oil.

Great saw... we switched from gas and love it - but be careful which model you actually order....
We heat our home full time with firewood we cut ourselves. We purchased this saw after using a husqvarna 440 18" saw for several years and are very pleased with this new electric saw. I have not started up the gas saw since this one arrived. It's darn near perfect. It cuts fast, reasonably lightweight, tons of power, seems very solid and robust, and of course no gas engine. We cut about 3.5 cords a year and this saw will / has cut most of that. Like any electric tool, it's all about the battery. We use the stock 2.5 ah GW battery and an additional off-brand 3.5 ah to supplement and this works fine for 2 ppl on wood cutting day. My only caution with green works tools (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is that they have SO MANY models of their tools and they seem to swap out old stuff with new stuff 'as new' - so be mindful of what you're getting as the 'bundles' change often. Note that within the 80v line, there are at least 3 generations of saw chassis, 3 gens of chargers, and 2 gens of batteries. I believe the one we purchased is a Gen 2 saw with a 2kw motor, a gen 2 battery and a gen1 charger. So we got the bigger motor, the refined chassis, the newer (but smaller) battery, and an old slow 2 amp charger for a decent deal. Older saw models have a smaller motor and the battery mounted crossways, while newer generation saws have larger motors, better oil tanks, increased airflow and the battery sits sideways. Older chargers are 2amp chargers that mount vertically, while newer chargers are 4 amp (so they charge twice as fast) and hold the battery at an angle. Older gen1 batteries do not have the rubber grips and can be quite tall in size for their AH rating. Overall, It's a great saw that has tons of power and cuts fast. It will last all day if you've got 2-3 batteries ready to go and a fast charger. Good luck!
