Smooth Flavor
Lovely Olive Oil. So convenient that it comes in one gallon quantities, and in a sturdy tin! This Martini's Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a smooth flavor, and wonderful aroma. Great for use in dressings, and cooked within recipe's. It is so helpful that the acidity of the olive oil is constant in each of their batches, which gives consistent results. You know what to expect with this. I've been using it for over 10 years now, and have never been disappointed. It is quite convenient that Amazon is now carrying this item. If one gallon is too large, try their half liter or liter glass bottles. If amazon isn't currently carrying it, they can be purchased from Super Olives website.

rich and not bitter
I used to buy Zoe Extra Virgin Olive Oil, but I prefer this brand because it's richer and has no bitterness. It's colored green and has a fabulous flavor. I'm Greek and grew up with olive oil and this is the best olive oil I know of. I like it so much it motivates me to eat more healthy salad. The container is thin and easily damaged, so it should be carefully packaged if given as a gift. It has a green plastic handle which some people may like, but I would prefer if Martini's were more eco-friendly and didn't add the plastic. Overall, it is a very fine oil at a reasonable cost.

Bait and switch
This is not kalamata olive oil. 1. Tin has picture of normal olives not kalamata 2. No where on the tin does it say "kalamata" 3. Tasted it and it does not taste anything like kalamata Ive had before. 4. The description on site says 100% kalamata. Sending it back..... UPDATE The same day I wrote this review I was contacted by Mr. Alexander Mallas, with SuperOlive.com, the seller. 650-591-1010 . He explained that the product description was written by the Martinis Company, the manufacturer. The Kalamata is the region in Greece where the olives are grown, not necessarily kalamata olives. I never knew there was such a place. The seller plans on clarifing this in their description. Mr. Mallas did say he attended an olive oil convention in Greece and found that the locals make their own kalamata olive oil for themselves and it is not readily available to the public. The quest will continue.... It was a pleasure discussing the many different grades and types of olive oil. I plan on reading the book, Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandale, by Tom Mueller, which he recommended. I heard the program on NPR, with this review. The Martinis oil I have he said I can keep, with an acidy level of .8 ( whatever that means ) I would only use it to fry fish, or other foods. I am satisfied with the response, in fact Mr. Mallas is a colorfull man, and would look forward to another discussion after completing my education. Olive ON....

No production date
Ordered this and received it in few days. I received it in March 2020 with expiry date 10.03.2020 and there was no production date. Production date is important as after 18 months oil is not good anymore.

While the oil is otherwise good and fresh
Some previous reviewers extolled the lack of bitterness and aftertaste. Sadly, that was not my experience. While the oil is otherwise good and fresh, it has a strong astringency, detectable at the back of the throat, which I found to be a distraction.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my first experience with this oil was at what is now our favorite italian restaurant in half moon bay. when they brought the bread and dipping oil out, it was game over! i asked the waiter what brand they used, looked it up on amazon and am almost finished using the first gallon. am going to order two next time; one will be for me and the other for a co-worker who loves to cook and went to the restaurant with us and also remarked about how it was the best she'd ever had. so light and flavorful with absolutely no weird after taste. i'm in love and my daughter is laughing as i type saying i am nuts to be so obsessed with this oil...and yes, i use it on my skin as well.

Wonderful taste - excellent vendor
We are extremely happy and satisfied with the quality of this EVOO & the excellent taste. We never used EVOO much in the past due to the cost, but started to slowly migrate to it for health concerns. After trying several different types we found Martinis and are in love with the taste and price. Best packaging I have ever seen and I was an instructor for quality packaging. They set the standard for others to follow.
