Metra 99-7506 Single DIN/Double DIN Installation Kit for 2006-2008 Mazda Miata MX-5 Vehicles (Black)

The media could not be loaded. The Metra 99-7506 template worked perfectly for our 2008 Mazda MX-5. The fit is perfect. I chose the Pioneer AVH-221EX radio for installation and everything fit just right.

The Connects2 fascia for NC1s (2006-9) is no longer available in the UK so this one from Amazon in the US was the only viable option I could see.Excellent fit and look, very happy and great value.

The more secure ISO single DIN retainer screws very securely onto the stereo but merely snaps into the bezel. Feels OK but would have preferred it screw in like OEM. Still better than the flimsy metal sleeve with bend out tabs. The fit on mine was off by just a bit and didn't fit exactly flush to the top dash portion where the hazard button is. This gets the job done but could be better. At least the sleeve is pretty deep and useful.

Decent fit and finish; easy assembly into NC MX5 MiataI used the Metra dash kit to install a new head unit in my Miata. Fit and finish is ok and everything fit in ok. It kind of sticks out proud at the top edge but it’s even side-to side, and flush on the left & right sides. (I think the stock faceplate is also like this.)My single-DIN deck came with a DIN mounting cage, but I decided to go with the plastic ISO DIN brackets that attach to the sides and the clip into the faceplate. Much more secure and better fit. Had to go to get the M5 screws needed for attachment. Matching trim ring included to keep the matte finish surrounding the deck. Slight gap under the bottom edge of the deck but I don’t notice in the vehicle.

I have purchased this 2 or 3 times. Fits perfectly. This time I installed a double din head unit.

I've used Metra kits now on two ATOTO branded headunits and neither one fit without filing down the thickness of the brackets.This was both on this kit for a 2006 MX5 and for a 2011 Honda CRV kit.I've used Metra products on many vehicles in the past with good luck but there's some compatibility issues with the ATOTO headunits. I purchased a Scosche kit for my 2008 MX5 and it fit fine.

Good quality item, all the parts are in the kit for single or double Din fitment, the build quality seems very good and the instructions are clear. I haven't fitted or matched the colour yet to the current dashboard but will when I get back from my trip abroad ( I'll update my review when I fit the unit). Very pleased with the purchase so far especially given the quality and price.Update: have fitted pioneer double din radio and it fits great, both to the radio and the dash. Colour and finish are spot on. It was easy to fit and certainly looks the part. No creaking or squeaking noises from the dash since fitment so am very pleased. Great buy.

The top of the kit doesn't sit flush with the rest of the trim (unlike the OEM radio), but overall it worked great for my double-din stereo. Maybe if I re-seat it, it'll be better (have to make sure that it's not the cables at the back preventing it from being flush).I wish there were separate, cheaper kits for single-din and double-din stereos - I have no need for all the single-din parts, and it's just a waste of plastic, as far as I'm concerned.
