RFMRM5019 1:35 Rye Field Model Panther Ausf.G Sd.Kfz.171 with Full Interior/Workable Track Links/Cut Away Parts of Turret & Hull [Model Building KIT]

The Ryefield Panther Ausf.G has proven itself to be an impressively detailed kit. I chose this kit in particular for the fact that it provides the cutaway hull sections so that it can be built just as the cover art depicts with all the interior detail visible. For those not familiar with the genre of "full interior" tank kits it's helpful to understand that (to my knowledge) the Ryefield Panther is unique in providing these cutaway pieces. On all other full interior tank kits the hull is solid and therefore unless you leave the top hull loose the interior won't be visible.As far as building is concerned the engineering and fit of the pieces is excellent. Yes, with more than 1,000 parts there are many small and delicate pieces. I would not recommend this kit for a first time modeler. That said, with some experience, along with the quality fit of the pieces and a healthy dose of patience, this kit provides a very enjoyable building process.** I do want to point out that although the kit includes the cutaway hull pieces they are not depicted in the instructions. Rather, it will be up to the builder to discern how the cutaway parts substitute into the build and accordingly which pieces will be omitted from the build. Otherwise, the instructions are clear, well illustrated, and all but eliminate guess work during assembly. ** Study the instructions carefully!**Other notes which require attention:1) yes, the tracks are workable, but they are very delicate - this is not a toy2) yes, the suspension can be built workable, but to what point I don't know as it will be very fragile - again, this is not a toy3) there are several options for the tank wheels and though the instructions show how to build the various options it is not clearly depicted how you can arrange those options on the vehicleI have included pictures of my final build, including a base I fabricated to enhance the finished display of the kit. I was extremely impressed with this model kit. For a 1/35 scale tank, the box is massive, and it is stuffed with parts. The instructions are very detailed and quite thick. This is definitely not a model for beginners. If you love detailed models like I do, it is worth every penny spent. In fact, I see no real need for any aftermarket items. Normally I buy a model and then use Edward or other aftermarket brass to further detail the kit. Even though there are details out there, I see no need because the kit is very amazing. In fact, I only purchased aftermarket decals and a crew to show in action in the tank. If you are not a novice at modeling, and you like detailed kits, then this is a good kit for you!

A one to two month build it is extreme for a tank model.
