Winsor & Newton Professional Artists' Matt Varnish, 75ml (2.5-oz) Bottle

I used this to cover one of my paint pours and it came out fabulous . Better then varnish very easy to use put a protection and a gloss finish on my paintings I did it outside there is a bit of a fume when drying (at least for me )

Can't judge the long term qualities but application of the product was terrific. Excellent, even shine and beauty.

I have been painting for a few years but recently decided to look into a varnish as I was making a painting as a gift and wanted it to be protected. There were so many options, but I opted for the spray rather than one you paint over your finished work, mostly because it seemed easier, quicker and less work. The directions say to lay your work flat and spray over it, but sometimes a few drops would fall from the can onto the painting leaving big droplets. Luckily I noticed before it fully dried. I would then spray my paintings while slanted against something, in this case, I used a cooler. The smell is VERY strong so I recommend spraying outside your house. I would spray my paintings in my yard and I would leave them there for a few minutes. The smell does linger on your paintings for a while, but it eventually goes away. I didn't want my paintings to be very shiny or very matte so I got the satin spray and I'm so glad I did. I feel like it enhanced my paintings while still leaving a natural look.

Windsor and Newton is always good!

I personally use high gloss varnish in spray for my artwork. I like the high gloss with spraying on top of metallic colors to give it that extra pop. winsor & newton quality is amazing it sprays a fair amount .

This is a wonderful job of varnishing a portrait I painted of my parents. Easy to use, really brought out the color and left a nice coat.

Easy application, the smell went away once it dried and has a nice matte finish. 10/10 would buy again.
