A specialty of the Canary Islands, Mojo Picon is made from a mixture of spicy Harissa paste, crushed almonds, extra virgin olive oil and select spices. aMona's recipe has been perfected by Chef Mikel Trevino de Luis, who was inspired to make his own Mojo Picon after living on the islands for a few years. Smoky and a touch spicy, this versatile condiment, named for his amona (grandmother in a Spanish dialect), is wonderful paired with seafood, hummus, avocados, potatoes or as a dip for bread.

Awesome But
It was really nice to go back in time remembering the flavors of my country of birth. The sauce is also particularly good, even better than the ones I tried when I lived in Spain. Having said that, the price is way too much. Good to try once but not consistently. The jar is also very small.

A warm, interesting and a bit zesty flavor
Excited to find this product I’ve used for years as it adds a bit of warm zest to meats, vegetables, casseroles and soups. My favorite is to stir a tablespoon or 2 into sautéed red onions, diced sweet potatoes and fresh spinach topped with eggs; cover until eggs are done.

Great Sauce
It's a savory sauce that has a little smokey and spicy. You can definitely taste the cumin. Its good as an accompaniment with potatoes and pairs perfectly with Spanish style barbecued meats.
