High quality product
The one thing I notice most about this filter is it appears to have the best back-flow valve of all filters. I have a Ford Contour of which I have used nothing but synthetic oil since I bought it back in 2000. The car now has 239,145 miles and kicking strong, but what I'm getting at is I only use synthetic filters as well, particularly since I only change my oil every 9,000 miles thus I need good filters (although I must admit that during "bundle" sales, I've taken in regular filters also, but those get changed out mid-way of the synthetic oil a.k.a at 4,500 miles). I have used Amsoil (good), Mobil-1 (good) and from the regular filters, Microgaurd (HORRIBLE), Bosch (Poor), Purolator (good, best of the regular filters) and Fram (HORRIBLE). Realize, my judgments are based on the back-flow valve, the filtering I cannot say much other than my car is still running Excellent with my change intervals and still has some color over the 9K miles (not entirely black). The Royal Purple, BY FAR, has the least/shortest dry-starts of all the filters I've used. Being Dry starts attribute to some of the most wear of an engine (think about it, a dry start is metal on metal with no lubricant), I feel the Royal Purple is prolonging my engine more than any other filter.

Simply the BEST
I'm real picky when it comes to choosing anything for my car even something as simple as what oil and filter to use. After tons of countless research online from sites like bobistheoilguy .com and other sources I eventually came across a few bench tests as well as personal experiences from various filters. All oil filters are okay to use and in reality any filter is "good" BUT some filters do really out perform others. Without getting to caught up with brands though something to look for in oil filters are media type. Your cheapo cellulose filters (FRAM Orange cans are an example) are okay to use but really not that great especially when comparing to other types. Then you have the synthetic blend type filters that are better than your typical cheapo filter (Personally would at a minimum run this in my vehicles) and lastly you have the best kind of filters which are synthetic glass which all tend to filter far better than any cheap cellulose filter and still better than any synthetic blend filter. Now this isn't just hype because I saw a box that had the word "Synthetic" on it but because i actually saw proof. A used oil analysis appeared to show better results with a synthetic filter (They filter better so they keep your oil cleaner over time) and because I saw a bench test where someone actually mixed a nasty oily batter with very tiny particles in it (which are still large enough to see with your naked eye) and ran them through each filter he had about 8 different kinds (Mitsubishi filters are complete garbage, avoid at all costs!) and regardless of branding all the cellulose filters finished last allowing the most crud getting through, next synthetic blend filters all showed good results, but on top were all the synthetic filters which allowed the least amount of particles to get by (hardly any). Some brands were better than others but nothing very significant except for Mitsubishi oem filters which did significantly worse than anything else. The very top filter though was Royal Purple then another (forgot the name) which were both manufactured by Champ Laboratories for both brands. With all of this said rest assured that Royal Purple oil filters which are 100% synthetic (and manufactured by Champ Labs) are the very best oil filters that you can use on your car, if RP does not have a filter for your application I recommend any synthetic filter, then any blend if you cant find a full synthetic filter and lastly a cellulose filter. Remember this might not make a huge difference right away but in the long run better filtration means a healthier engine that will last longer, not to mention cleaner oil means you might be able to extend your oil change intervals making up for the additional cost (Just don't wait too long!).

RP Filters Are Very Well Made
I've been using RP filters for many years and I've been pleased with them. Although the price of these have been going up, I may have to buy a less expensive, but just as well made filter by Mobil 1.

Its ok
I've been driving about 25yrs I've always done my own oil changes. I've used cheap filters expensive filters and every filter in between. Honestly I've never had a problem with not one oil filter or ever noticed anything different about any of them. I just feel better knowing I have a quality filter on my vehicles. For the past several years I kinda stuck with K and N filters but there price increased $5 so trying this Royal Purple for the first time it seemed like it was well made so I'll probably stick to royal purple filters for a while

Love the color!
Royal and Purple - Who can deny that those two words just sounds and looks awesome together for an Oil Filter. The Oil Filter itself looks beautifully crafted for something you might not see again ever after it gets installed. I'm sure women would prefer the look of this filter based on aesthetics but would probably want more color options.Anyhow, after reading countless reviews about Oil filters and their filtration size, I settled or should I say I preferred Royal Purple in the end.Not because they are the best but they are probably 2nd to AmSoil Oil filters. The problem is the ease of convenience of getting Royal Purple Oil and Oil Filters and the great prices just makes it a no brainer. I would love to get AmSoil Oil and their Oil Filter if they took Paypal or made it easier to just get in and get on with your life the way Amazon and Paypal transactions. I almost did go through it but you have to buy a good deal of merchandise to really offset the higher cost and the shipping cost. Amazon's Free Shipping just clobbers them on top of the better price already. If I had the time and extra money to throw down I would go with AmSoil. But they need to make themselves more accessible to the open market. They aren't in stores, Amazon, eBay or where it's convenient to try them out. I know their company has a reason for this but I'm wondering how much money they are losing by sticking to this strategy. Maybe they make enough and that's all that counts. But I really think they should just open up one store in hotspots like San Francisco, Dallas, and New York. They don't need to have a bunch of chain stores. This will help them get their products out on their terms and keep the brick and mortar operating costs down.
