I love Andy Beck's products, and this is one of the first I ever ordered.This songbook contains an audio cd that makes practice easy. Each exercise contains a description of what is expected from it.All of these exercises move up in scale and gradually help you ease into the routine.This isn't a rigorous vocal workout, since it focuses on warm-ups and vocal technique.The arrangement on the cd are very well done. The reproducible pdf file let's you print or mail the pages to a student. Plus the book is comb bound allowing you to easily photocopy it.A superb product that can be used by professionals as well as amateurs who can't read sheet music.A well thought of book.Highly recommended

This is a really great tool for me. I was overjoyed when I discovered that I am allowed to print out special student pages so the students can practice at home. Not only that, but the student pages are in PDF form to allow for the best possible quality copies! This makes it a great tool for sight singing/ear training practice. The high quality recordings free up my hands and eyes to watch the breathing and posture of my students. I just can't believe I received all of this for such a low price!

I met Andy Beck when he introduced this book at a conference. I was teaching elementary music and my voice studio wasn’t big enough to justify it. Now I’m teaching high school and have a lot more students in my studio and I regret not having it sooner with my elementary. It’s great to have the sections divided up.

Awesome! This book was developed primarily for choral education, but I use it for my private voice students - and they LOVE it! This book serves as great reminder of aspects of singing that you might otherwise neglect in a private lesson, like learning solfege, and singing in harmony. After they learn them, my kids ask to sing these warm-ups over and over. A few of these, like "Flying, Sighing", and "The Diphthong Song" seem to have a magical effect in bringing out their tone. I even use this book with my adult students!

Using this at middle school. It could be used in elementary for sure. It's always great to have MORE warmups and Andy Beck is a quality composer with much to offer. Comes with an orchestrated CD (useful if you need to use them for a substitute teacher), piano accompaniment notation and PDF files to make any necessary handouts. Those are nice added features that all publishers of warm-ups should consider including!

This book has been an invaluable resource. We use it throughout the school year and the students quickly memorize the exercises which allows us to use them wherever we without having to carry countless numbers of warm-up books for everyone. My pianist appreciates not having to think about transposing exercises since everything is spelled out for them.

Met the author of this series at the Nebraska Music Educators Annual conference. It is a great teaching tool and who isn't looking for new warm ups that teach you how to properly execute a technique or skill while you are warming up! Also an accompaniment CD for those who need the keyboard assistance, and rights to printable excerpts for your student copies.

I usually subscribe to a more traditional vocal warmup with my students-my go to book has been Estelle Lieblings warm ups for years. But I was in a rut and looking for something new-this book as recommended to me by some colleagues, and I am IN LOVE WITH IT. It is the perfect companion to more “traditional” warmups, and addresses different technical questions in a really easy format. The piano parts are great, easy to play, and the range is good. My students love them, request certain ones, and have even begun to sing out more with these exercises than any scale or arpeggio I’ve ever used. Fan for life-please write another book, Andy Beck! Vocalize, volume 2? I’d buy it in a heartbeat, and recommend this book to all my colleagues!

Excellent material for students and teachers alike. Its has a variety of exercises to work your way through from the easier levels to the harder one. The notation for piano accompaniment is like an icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

This book is a wonderful resource for any vocal teacher or student. The book contains many exercises for all areas of vocal development. All the exercises have Simple and pleasant melodies which come with a backing track CD with beautifully arranged accompaniments. Would love a second volume please Andy Beck!
