Reliable and smooth
I've bought MANY of these pens. The ink is smooth, never stutters, and the color is rich (all colors, but I use blue the most). The price is reasonable and I find that they last a long time. I have two complaints: 1. the cap often cracks (I fix this with a bit of tape), a minor annoyance, and 2. The lower edge of the barrel has a sharp transition/edge. If my hand gets that low on the barrel, it is uncomfortable. I recently tried a couple of other brands and found the varsity to stop be superior in color, reliability, and smoothness. These pens are a joy to write cursive with. I can now travel on business with fountain pens easily. Co-workers always comment on them. They make your writing appear elegant too. They glide effortlessly on the paper, don't leak and dry quickly,

Good value and a good fountain pen
I have a small collection of fountain pens that each cost many times more than this item, but this is the pen I reach for when writing a quick note. The ink flows smoothly and consistently, and it's fun and easy to write with!
