Great hitch. Fits perfect and easy install and n 2023 Lexus GX460

Well made. Solid. Fits perfectly. Same brand U Haul carries. Unobtrusive and $800 + less than the Lexus dealership part. Installed myself in my driveway in 10 minutes using my ratchet wrench and a 19mm socket (lowered spare tire 2"). The included spacer plate makes the hitch fit perfectly just below the bumper. Took to my mechanic to torque mounting bolts (at 86 lb. feet) which he did for free. Black gloss paint finish matches my Lexus perfectly.

I recently got 32" Tires for my 2013 GX460, and my spare tire wasn't fitting in the stock location anymore. I moved it to the trunk / storage area, and started hating how much space it took up. I finally decided to pull the trigger on a Wilco Hitchgate swinging tire carrier, so this Curt Hitch was needed. I purchased it, and it was promptly delivered. I've been overall very happy with the hitch with no real complaints. Pros: Easy install. Took me about 20 minutes, with the 4 bolts being torqued to 86 ft/lbs for my application. Seamless install. There was no issues with it fitting my bumper, as I understand there's some issue with it fitting too closely on the 2014+ installs. Mine fit perfect, with a small gap. Fully Class 3 Rated. Will tow 5000lbs - I didn't need to match the 6500 lbs towing rating of my vehicle, as I'll only really be carrying the swinging tire hitch, and bikes. Cons: Like all things I wish it was cheaper, but not really a true con. Wish it'd hold 6500 lbs like the Lexus branded hitch, but just a small gripe. Love this hitch, and really couldn't ask for much more. If you're thinking of getting this for your GX460, especially 2010-2013- this is a perfect fit.

This trailer hitch will work on the 2022 Lexus GX 460, but it requires the removal of bumper trim in order to get it to fit. The hitch arrived to me with the hitch, spacer, bolts and washers along with basic install instructions. I was hoping that with the spacer plate I would be able to install the hitch without removing the trim on the 2022 Lexus GX, but unfortunately, it wouldn’t attach without removing a small strip of bumper trim. The removal of the trim is very easy with a trim tool. The clips all came off cleanly without breaking, and I could easily re-install the trim piece once the hitch is removed. I do not plan on doing much towing with the Lexus GX, but I do use my bike hitch rack to take bikes with me often. Installing this hitch allows me to easily haul bicycles safely and easily. Lastly, as of May 2022 Lexus does not offer a towing solution on the 2022 Lexus GX according to my local dealership. I am on a list, however, to get a factory trailer hitch once they become available. Right now this is an inexpensive option that is very easy to install with no previous experience needed.

Easy to install on a 2018 GX460 with the sport appearance package. For my application, I had to remove a trim piece from the bottom center of the bumper. It uses 4 plastic push in rivets that require you to carefully pry the head up in order to remove the rivet. Keep the trim piece or recycle it. I doubt you'll put it back on once the hitch is installed. Once you remove the trim piece, you can drop the spare slightly, align your hitch with the holes from the factory and install. Bring the spare back up after the install is completed. The spare moves very slightly forward to accommodate the hitch placement. FYI, there is a small access panel on the top of the bumper, near the center that you pry up (carefully) with a screwdriver or plastic trim panel tool. The rods to lower the spare tire are in the swing out door. It is self explanatory once you remove the tools and find the access port. Follow the directions to tighten the hitch mounting bolts to the proper torque for your vehicle. If you do not have a torque wrench, some auto parts stores will rent one to you for the day. The hitch worked well for a 1200 mile trip the next day. No complaints. Our 2018 GX460 was prewired with a 4 way flat and round 7 way. The connectors are on the driver's side behind the bumper. One last tip - I bought a 4 way flat extension since the trailer's stock wiring was too short. This is likely due to where Lexus places the trailer connectors, which is back and to the left of the hitch. Hopefully this arms you with some additional information when you tackle the job.

The Lexus factory tow hitch receiver was not available when I purchased my 2023 GX and I'm glad it wasn't. This one was a breeze to install, works great, and was much less expensive. Installation consisted of lowering the spare tire a few inches, bolting it on with the included spacer plate, and raising the spare tire back into place. Since the GX tailgate swings out instead of up, you may want to consider using a ball mount with a longer shaft so that the tailgate clears any winches or other hardware on the front of the trailer when opening it. All in all, this is an ideal tow hitch receiver for the GX 460.

Solid welds and build quality. Mounted bike rack is level with the frame and receiver dimensions are perfect, unlike my experience with Chinese made junk. I'm knocking a star because the bolt is too long (IMO), or they should have provided another set of bolts to use without the (provided) spacer. Without the spacer, it will fit but barely touching the rear bumper fender (stock 2023 GX460 Black Line). I would have preferred this, but as you can tell in the picture, the bolt won't work without the spacer. It bumps up against the frame. I'm not willing to modify concerned it might affect tongue and tow rating. Installed with the spacer (as instructions state), it mounts well and easy. Also, I'm not a fan of the position and looks of the recovery hooks, but being Class III, I would never use it to recover. I'm primarily using it to mount my 1Up bike swing arm and rack so it's more than sufficient. And this is my temporary solution until I can find a Toyota/Lexus or 3rd party Class IV.
