I was diagnosed with diabetes about 18 months ago and I like to keep my levels under control. At diagnosis my Hba1c was 61 mmol/mol where a range of < 42 for a non diabetic person is normal. Not horrendous compared to some but a bit scary for me all the same. After about 5 months it came down to 37 mmol/mol and has been this for the last year thanks to a huge diet and lifestyle change. However, now the original panic has passed my strict diet routine is maybe not what it was ... I get tested quite often at the Gp surgery but liked the idea of self testing. This is my 2nd kit and I find it very useful. It comes with 4 test kits and I test every 3 months spaced out to coincide with the Gp surgery tests. So basically I get a result every 6 weeks ( 8 times a year). Obviously I take the Gp result as the standard result but the accuracy of this test kit has been astounding so far . The test is a bit fiddly at first but the instructions are excellent and guide you through the process. It takes about 10 minutes in total and does not use a large volume of blood. It comes with an easy to use finger pricker, but you could use a normal glucose meter lancet if you preferred. Only problem I had was one test failed to provide a result so I had to do it again. This has happened only once in 6 tests but when you consider each test costs £25 it is a bit of a downer. My last 3 surgery results have all been 37 mmol/mol (👍) and my last 3 a1cnow results have averaged at 39 mmol/mol ( 40, 40 and 38 ) This is very good parity over several tests and does not include the 3 other results which were very similar. I have no way of knowing how accurate the readings will be at higher readings but it works for me. I wish it was a bit cheaper and Amazon make it very difficult (impossible) to claim back the vat so always check other outlets. I find it reassuring and hope it does the same for you .

Hi I bought A1CNOW device. I tried it twice now and followed the steps exactly as by instructions. the results shown was <4.0? I am A doctor myself and familiar with these kind of tests.... the device is faulty as the results is outside the range and should not display< sign.? it is a joke device and very expensive at £27 per test, do a reliable lab test

I think expensive for 4 tests but offset against the convenience of a home result. Very easy to use. I used my diabetic lancet pen as I’m used to that so can’t say if the lancet provided with the product is painful. The slight prob for me so I’ve dropped 1 star was the fact that my doctors measure my HBA1C in mmol and this is % so took me a while to find a conversion chart which I did on diabetes UK website. I will update when I get my docs reading in 12 weeks to compare against this monitor as I will do the test again just before. Based on ease of use & convenience of home results within 15 mins I would recommend.

So this kit worked first time for me and seemed accurate but the subsequent tests all had error code QC62 which would indicate that I'd put the sample in before prompted which was DEFINITELY not the case. Its glitchy and a poor product experience and not cheap. at £25 per test, I want all 4 tests to work flawlessly and this didn't. Seeking a refund

Bought this 3 times now and result is pretty accurate and in line with doctors result Pre and post. Useful for me now to allay any fears that blood sugar is rising and puts mind at rest when I can trust the result on this device. Instructions worth reading at least twice before you start, although they are fairly clear it’s not hard to get an error code on first test. This time first time lucky so still have 3 left. Fairly expensive but for me well worth. As a type 2 in reversal it’s good to know that all is well and motivation to stay off refined carbs and sugars and eat properly to stay healthy. Definitely recommend but you must read instructions carefully before you open any of the packets inside and start the test.

I don't normally leave reviews , but I was really unimpressed with this device. I followed the instructions meticulously and got readings of 7.3,6.2 and 5.9 all within an hour of each other, and the fourth test failed the self test. That range of readings on what is manifestly the same blood is awful. When 5.9 means I'm slightly above normal in the pre diabetes range and 7.3 means I strongly have type 2. I used the manufacturers email for customer services and still have no response after 48 hours. Compared to both the level predicted by my finger prick tests and another "COVID style" A1c test only one of those reading is remotely correct. Extremely poor service and customer support. First time using this. Accurate as the numbers on the 3 tests are close and are inline with my average glucose levels as I'd been monitoring for 3 months using a glucose meter. The results of 5.2, 5.3 and 5.3 were on 3 separate blood samples minutes apart. And make your sample a bit big before trying to collect it to ensure it fills on the first go and watch the video, really useful Be sure to push down the blood sample collector all the way down before shaking for 5 seconds. Mine did not go down completely, my mistake, and when i shook it i felt bubbles and had a little spillage, this was the first one that showed 5.2 To be sure i did a 2nd and third test, and ensures I'd closed it tightly by pressing it RIGHT DOWN.... and both results were 5.3. I think I'll be using these monthly or every 2 months rather than everyday monitoring with test strips. I'm high risk due to diabetes running in the family so I actually thought i was prediabetic but so far numbers prove otherwise.
