Cloyes Kit saved me a proposed multi thousand dollar dealersip repair with no guarentes.
Purchased to repair the loud ticking noise emanating from my 2006 Ford Triton V-8 in my Expedition. The truck would lurch and stall at low speed and was unreliable. I thought the engine was about to blow. Pulled the timing cover to find both hydraulic chain tensioners gaskets shot, a loose left side chain rubbing on the inside of the timing cover and a well worn crankshaft chain gear. The right side chain guide was also cracked. These parts fit perfectly. I added cam phaser billets from Livernoise Motorsports and the horrible ticking noise is gone and the engine is running strong. Shipment was quick. Did a lot of research on this project which resulted in me choosing this Cloyes Timing kit. Great price compared to individually purchasing parts. Six thousand miles on this repair and running strong..

Money Saver!!!!
Worked perfect on my 2007 F150 with a 5.4L, 3V engine. It was a big job to replace the set, but well worth it. I took me about 16 hours to complete the job. I found the passenger side guide broken in several pieces during the removal process. Everything fit back in place perfectly. When it was all said and done. The P016 code was gone and the truck ran like a champ. I would recommend changing the oil pump and VCT Solenoids as well while you're this far into the motor.Note: I had a misfire after installing this set that had nothing to do with the job. I could feel it, but it would not trigger any codes. I found out that you need to reactivate the misfire module when the PCM is powered down. The way to do it is run the car above 65 MPH, let off the throttle and coast until you get below 35 MPH without touching the throttle or brakes. I did this and instantly it triggered a P308 code (Cylinder 8 misfire). I replaced the coil and problem solved.I spent about $600 in parts and tools to fix the issue that the Ford Dealer said was a blown engine. I figure my truck that they offered me $3,000 for is now worth about $12,000.You can find several YouTube videos on how to do the job. I recommend FordTechMakuloco. Excellent Step By Step Instructions.Good luck!!

Good price, fit perfectly!
Chains and gear clearly marked and of good quality, everything fit perfectly and so far after three months everything is working well. I changed this out after reading several forum posts pointing to cam phasers, worn timing components, low oil pressure, VCT's, cam sensors..... If you have this motor you know the story. I pulled my oil pan, found the thrust (washers) lying in the bottom, replaced. I removed and tested the VCT's with a 12 volt power supply they switched, so I replaced the timing set, oil pump, and phasers, also cleaned the sludge out. The truck ran somewhat better but with the same issue at idle. I bought a code reader, it called out a cam sensor, replaced, no more code from it, it called out an over retarded condition on both banks, replaced one VCT, that bank cleared up, changed the other VCT, no more codes, truck idles. I thought I would include my story to save you some trouble, hope your journey is not as long as mine to a good running engine!!

perfect for the 3v 5.4
very good timing set, installed it finally 2 months ago. So far truck runs great, I always over maintain my vehicles and to my surprise when I pull the engine apart none of the original parts had failed. Everything was still intact. I opted to not use the timing chain tensioners in this kit and went with the 2v 5.4 triton tensioners. They work fine in a 3v engine, Ford did away with them because they would over racket in mustangs and crown vics or in racing situations with HIGH rpms. Chains and guides and crank sprocket are perfect fit. Very happy with this kit.

Great Replacement Kit, Well Designed
This Timing Kit Fit really good. The new design on the tensioner was different from the old OEM. The OEM tensioners gasket were leaking.Make sure to clean off all the old gaskets at tensioner and around the timing cover.Follow the timing chain and gear and install correctly and your engine will run great. The new O-ring design on tensioners is great. 5.4 L Ford engine still going after 2 years of install.this kit is awesome and would buy again if I need to do another kitThe material used is excellent.

Fixed codes p0345 p0349
2005 F150 5.4 3v. 118k miles low power after 45mph, sounded like a diesel at idle. Threw codes p0345 and p0349 for drivers side cam position sensors... tried all the easy fixes first - cam position sensor, vct solenoid, alternator was bad causing circut noise. But didn't remedy the issues. So tore down the front of motor to find both oem chain guides destroyed. Driver side timing chain slipped a tooth on cam phaser. Used this Cloye kit along with the updated Dorman cam phasers (part # 917-250XD). It's a time consuming job, but doable for a d.i. y'r. It fixed the issue.
