Samsung BP96-00826A Replacement Lamp w/Housing 6,000 Hour Life & 1 Year Warranty

Ordered 2 of these lamps to have one extra on hand. Both lamps did not slide in as easily as past lamps I have purchased. One lamp did not work. Cables in both lamps looked different from each other, one lamp looked more similar to the lamp I was replacing. When the first lamp did not work I removed, and replaced with original to check the TV and and ease of installation. The original lamp slid in much easier (which was also a replacement lamp). I removed the original and inserted the second, and like the first it did not install with ease. After I got it in the TV did work. I returned the first purchased lamp with no problems but there must have been a restocking fee because I paid $37 and got a refund of $30, plus I paid $9 to ship back. I will not buy this lamp from this seller again. I will look for a higher quality lamp. They must be out there because we have had 2 of the Samsung TVs and I have changed the lamp about 3 times total and this lamp was the hardest to work with. Also the picture is still sort of dark. I can't say it is the fault of the lamp as I do not really know.

installed it a few days ago, the night of the 4th it started making my an arcing noise and billowing black smoke. I had to unplug the TV and get my family out of the house. After removing and inspecting the connection terminals on the bulb they appear to be made of inferior plastic that could not hold up to the voltage without arc-over (I'm an electrical engineer). I can only imagine if we would have moved this tv into my sons room and got a new tv like we were planning! Thank god we didn't!

The shown image is not what was sent, the back side (as shown) has a vent above the plastic base, inside the metallic frame, which is identical to the model of lamp I was trying to replace. What was sent has the vent located lower, on the plastic base. Additionally, there was no metallic frame/cover with a bump over the lamp, it was all plastic. This model is not for a BP96-00826A(p), it is not an OEM replacement, and if you try to use it you could damage your TV/start a fire since the bulb will not be cooled at all.

This bulb slid right in and has been going for about a month now with no issues.I have an older Samsung DLP HLR4667 which wants a BP96-00823A(0) bulb for replacement. After some confusing research I found this one might work. It did! No issues at all, so dont buy the more expensive BP96-00823A(0) because that is just an old style and this one is an update to that.

This is the one to get. Installed with no issues. Much easier than trying to replace just the bulb. I have an HL-R4667W bought in July 2005. Owner's manual said the lamp was BP96-00826A. Basically a 120 Watt Mercury lamp. In August 2011, I bought the PHILIPS UHP/DLP BULB ONLY W/O HOUSING and it lasted 2 years, but cost $95. In 2009 I bought a factory Samsung DLP Lamp with Code BP96-01403A(O120W). In 2007 the extended warranty replaced the lamp for the first time, although they used a BP96-00823A(O). So this last purchase is the 5th lamp.They all seem to last 2 years.

Product fits perfectly. TV shows bright like a new TV. Would definitely purchase again.

have had this lamp installed for over 8 months in my tv which sees heavy daily use. plenty bright, still running. no complaints from me.

Fixed the problem but replaced TV because I was replacing these lamps way to often.
