SIACGH60WH 60cm White Curved Glass Chimney Cooker Hood Kitchen Extractor Fan

Purchased to replace an existing similar cooker hood that had given up after 10 years. Was relatively easy to install if you follow the instructions and watch a few youtube videos of similar products. It is a little noisy and you have to have it on level 2 to make a real difference, but at this price point it works and looks good so no complaints really.

Looks lovely, a bit noisy, also the filter doesn't click in place so comes loose when on the 2nd or 3rd settings, so everytime I use it i have to check the filter first, and tighten it back up, given 4 stars because of this. Other than that it's a lovely, good quality, good value for money.

The cooker hood quality is probably what might be expected for the low price point (functional, but nothing exceptional). My handyman found it to be a bit fiddly to install and the fingerprint clean up was very difficult afterwards. It's also worth mentioning that if, like me you are replacing a metal hood chimney style version with a glass one like this, the decorative chimney might not be long enough and this was one of the things which caused some of the extra "fiddle & faff" in my case. I would say that the noise level on full speed is quite loud and although that isn't something which bothers me particularly, it may be a factor for you. Appearance is okay, light is a bit small and a lot more cold blueish tone than most under cupboard kitchen lights. When I tried to register for the 5 year guarantee on the Ship it appliances website - as instructed on the enclosed card - the web form would not recognize or accept the invoice details from Amazon. After contacting Ship it appliances I was told that maybe Amazon would probably be responsible for registering it. Having felt like I was being fobbed off (have never heard of a selling platform being involved with product guarantees before) I decided to cut my losses and take my chances with the products durability. You may wish to consider this before making a decision to purchase.

My Unbranded hood (£49.99) stopped working after 4yrs. Since my ceiling is very low it took me a while to find the replacement. After hours of searching I decided to buy this hood. Firstly 2 of 4 little screws were missing from the bag. Secondly once hood got installed the level of noise which was generating was so bad (much louder than by previous unbranded hood). Lastly and more importantly the suction is absolutely awful, even on the last 3rd gear (please see my photos). Just with 2 pots on the hob (750mm gap between the hob and the hood) all my cupboards and window got misted in seconds (see photos). Seller does not respond to any of the questions or even the refund/return request. Luckly great amazon customer service is always helpful and are in the process of sorting the return label and refund out for me. Do not waste your money here. If you have limited space between you ceiling and the hood go to Currys and pay £20 extra for the Logic 600mm hood.
