*edit* my sis said she used this for about a month and it just stopped working. She replaced the batteries and still nothing. Hoping we can get a replacement one. It worked GREAT up until it crapping out though. I still think it's a great buy, just stinks that it doesn't work anymore.I bought this for my sis, who just had her first baby last week. I bought it solely based on a blogger that I follow who said and I quote "we don't go anywhere without it"...that's all I needed to hear to buy it. They've had it for 4 days and it's always wherever the baby is. They said it calms my nephew down when they change his diaper (pre-Shusher he would get fussy). It helps him sleep and just provides great white noise. It's ridiculously easy to use. Three notches are for 30 min, 15 min and off, it's basically goof-proof. The price seemed a little high for it just shooshing but I babysit and shooshing with your own mouth gets tiring after 10 or 15+ min and my mouth starts to go numb, plus you can't talk, so this is definitely gets an A+ just for that alone. They haven't had it long enough to give feedback on the battery life, but I think it takes batteries, and you can get them at the dollar store, so I don't foresee that being an issue. I'm honestly debating getting one for myself, to take with me when I babysit, for my box of tricks. I also love this because it's portable, the other huge plus, most kids I sit for have sound machines, which are great, but they stay plugged into the wall and don't get moved around, this is light and easy to toss in a bag or place next to the car seat on a car ride.

Love this product. We have used it for many years now. It does break if it falls on the floor multiple times but its pretty sturdy. I can usually open it up and fix whatever part is broken. If you need a shusher this is the one to go with, travels well and works perfectly.

Really helpful to baby sleep.

*** UPDATE #2 ***We've had this for almost 2 months, and I have to admit it gets used A LOT!! Sometimes we used the apps on our phones, sometimes we use this, and sometimes we use Shusher together with the apps. It just depends. It's nice to have something separate from our phones. Sometimes we make the shushing sounds ourselves, take the baby outside for a minute, change positions, give Baby a bath, etc. It another excellent tool for your baby toolbox.*** UPDATE ***I'm upgrading this product to 2 stars now, not that it really matters, but I just want to be fair. After using this product for several weeks I've found that it does work 1 out of 3 - 4 times. Also it's speaker is bigger, so it appears to be a little louder than my phone. I still would not have bought it had I known, nor do I recommend this product to anyone else, because it just isn't worth the price for what you get :(*** ORIGINAL REVIEW ***You are probably like me, a parent of a newborn. The newborn could be a few weeks old which means they are in the 'PURPLE' period of crying, and you desperately want a break, especially at night. Right? Don't waste $32 of your money on this. It MAY or MAY NOT work on your child since every child is different. If it works, great! But why go through the extra hassle when you're trying to make your life easier. My 2 wk old son is very responsive to the 'shush' sound from the 'BABY SLEEP INSTANT' android app (or "Sleepy Sounds" for iOS) which has 10+ sounds and is FREE! He also likes the ocean sound that his Munchkin Nursery Projector and Sound System makes ($25 at your local Walmart) which is also the only sound machine for babies that is voice activated (however, it isn't sensitive enough imho). The point is that there's other apps and products out there that are cheaper and are probably more effective than this one. You could try the $4.99 Baby Shusher app which is a fraction of the price but no more effective. If you read all of this and are still going to buy this product then at least save the box so you can return it. Hope this helps.

I LOVE this, it works well and worth every penny. It's expensive but it does help. However, there are some huge design flaws- why is the only way to set it down covering the speaker where the sound comes out? I lay it on its side but then it rolls around and is annoying. ALSO, the turning function to turn up the sound / on off is so inconvenient when trying to hold baby with one arm and turn this on with the other. I wish the timer was also more clear instead of in shapes.

After two little ones, this product is at the TOP of my list for favorite, most-used baby products in the infant years! It is extremely useful both at home and on the go. Instead of having to make the "shhh" sound over and over yourself, this shusher makes it so easy, especially in those late night hours when you can take all the help you can get!It can be set to run for 15 minutes or 30 minutes which is nice so that you can set it in the nursery and not have to come back to turn it off. It really worked like magic for our two babies to help soothe them! After giving them a pacifier, rocking gently, and using the shusher, they were usually sound asleep! It is one of my most recommended baby items to friends making baby registries! Great gift to take to a baby shower as well, especially if you need something gender neutral. Love this product. A baby product you will actually use!
