Do the Right Thing (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]

This is a classic movie. Love it!! Gift idea.

Do the Right Thing is among classic films created in my timeline. It's a love letter to a NY community that exceeds its borders and stands the test of time. They faced valleys that continue to occur today.Spike Lee was masterful at weaving these stories.I saw the Criterion Collection on a Facebook Marketplace. It was sold by the time I got to it. I already had 3 versions in my collection (2 dvds, 1 blu-ray) but this package called my name.The featurettes in this Criterion Collection are impeccable. Any filmmaker should consider making this purchase. It's a class in interwoven stories and adding more conflict to situations.

Great movie, disc has excellent picture and sound.

First of all, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Second, it’s never looked better. Criterion really hit the nail on the head with this release because the 4K transfer is absolutely stunning. It was like watching it for the first time. The packaging is also really amazing and true to the film and it comes with some really cool extras. It’s even approved officially by Spike Lee, so you really can’t go wrong with this one. Get it before it goes out of print!

It's amazing and emotional. It's all the more compelling and tragic because things like this still happen in America today. Hopefully watching films like this (and a greater awareness of persistent racism in the real world) will compel people to change. The special features help put it in context too. It was shot pretty quickly and on a low budget.

Perfect restoration by criterion and the packaging is amazing with custom artwork. As always the special features are solid . The movie itself a classic of Cinema and a very realistic approach to problems involving minority in the hood.

I received it today and it is packaged very strangely and poorly, and doesn’t really look like what I intended to order. Nevertheless, it works perfectly and it is the Blu-Ray so I got exactly what I ordered so I am still satisfied :)

excellent 4k scan, watching this on my 4k tv I could see the eyes of every actor and the depth of each masterfully composed frame as I remember seeing for the first time on the big screen back in 1989. It brought laughter and finally tears to my eyes, once again. Classic Cinema.

This movie is well done and goes into issues in a small scale but realistic setting in the USA. I was amazed by the actors and how they made their debut through this movie alone. Amazed at the racism and profanity for a movie back in '89. Spike Lee drove a home run with this one.

Damaged upon delivery. The discs work fine, however the case was cracked/snapped in several places and the card sleeve which should protect the case was damaged and torn.

I couldn't resist this purchase, after the great reviews, but was highly disappointed. You can do much better if looking for similar subject matter. It comes off as a first attempt at saying something. Perhaps the hype is the maker not the movie. YMMV for sure.

My item came in with an intent on the case. I'm someone who likes to collect the physical special edition of a film, and to have an indent on the case frustrates me. The film and the contents in the packaging are great however.
